You think it's gonna be like a loud scene and they cut off. [00:00:21] Speaker A: Yeah. That's crazy. Yeah. That was a random conversation. Twitty and assist what we do. [00:01:03] Speaker A: I don't try. I don't try. [00:01:05] Speaker B: Yeah, but lately you just been coming with these rhymes just right off the top. [00:01:08] Speaker A: Like, man flowing, man. [00:01:09] Speaker B: Before I know it, we don't have our own album. [00:01:10] Speaker A: Hey, Twitty. Twitty in the City, Volume 1. Okay. Speaking of volumes, we might. This might go off the rails. [00:01:20] Speaker B: Why? [00:01:21] Speaker A: Cuz we need to have childhood gaming console debate. [00:01:27] Speaker B: Oh, how far are we going back? [00:01:29] Speaker A: That's when I. That's. That's. That's the first question. [00:01:31] Speaker B: Because, you know, like my generation, like, gaming consoles that. Are we talking about gaming consoles for the home? [00:01:37] Speaker A: Yes. [00:01:38] Speaker B: So nothing outside those. And we're not talking like arcades. [00:01:40] Speaker A: No, no. We're talking pure. Okay. Or if it was like the Game Boy. But those type of gaming. [00:01:47] Speaker B: Oh, so anything. So anything for the home or anything portable? [00:01:50] Speaker A: Yes. [00:01:50] Speaker B: Okay. [00:01:51] Speaker A: That's what we're talking about. [00:01:52] Speaker B: Okay. [00:01:52] Speaker A: Because I got into this debate and I thought I got to ask THC because you're Mr. PS5VR headset. [00:01:59] Speaker B: Let me. Let me tell you, man, every gaming system you can think of. I was alive since it's been out. [00:02:05] Speaker A: True. [00:02:06] Speaker B: All the way back to the Commodore [00:02:08] Speaker A: 64, who I didn't even had it on my list. [00:02:11] Speaker B: Oh, yeah. [00:02:12] Speaker A: So I Got a list. You just let me know if I'm missing any. But we got to discuss just when you think of this console. Okay, what was the automatic game? Not only did you have to play, but you had to be good at it. [00:02:26] Speaker B: Got you. Gotcha. [00:02:27] Speaker A: Otherwise you got taken off the stick. [00:02:28] Speaker B: Got you. [00:02:30] Speaker A: Nintendo the first Nintendo first. Nintendo first. [00:02:33] Speaker B: The. The. On the. On the thing, I wrote a cart. [00:02:37] Speaker A: Every cart was gray. And it had a little. Just a little description of what it was, like, gay, like Mario. And it. Like the. The picture was that big on it. [00:02:44] Speaker B: But you talking about the one you put the game in, push it down, put the game on top so it [00:02:47] Speaker A: don't pop up again. [00:02:48] Speaker B: Okay, Okay, I got that. [00:02:49] Speaker A: Yeah. All these I'm day oner. [00:02:51] Speaker B: Day 1ers, day oner, you playing this game. You playing these games that. That are on there. So you want me to list. Give you a list of games? Number one off top in my head, Tecmo Bowl. [00:03:01] Speaker A: Oh, Tecmo Bowl. [00:03:03] Speaker B: I forgot about Tecmo Bowl. You said you had to. If you didn't, you was getting pulled off the stick. [00:03:08] Speaker A: You was getting pulled off the sticks for that. Because, see, I was going Mario Kart. [00:03:12] Speaker B: Well, Mario Kart was super Mario, bro. Was Super Nintendo. [00:03:15] Speaker A: Super Nintendo. [00:03:16] Speaker B: Super Nintendo. [00:03:16] Speaker A: Super. So. [00:03:17] Speaker B: Oh, gosh. [00:03:18] Speaker A: See, that's why I had to ask you that, man. [00:03:20] Speaker B: Now, if you're doing regular Nintendo, if you're doing a regular Nintendo, you're gonna have to have the. The. The. The first one was that one that I. That I mentioned. Tecmo. Yeah. Techmo Bowl. You had to have Contra. And Contra was the. Was the. Was the one that if you wanted 30 men, you had to do. What was it? Up, up, down, down, left, left, right, left, right. Ba select, start. [00:03:38] Speaker A: Yep. [00:03:39] Speaker B: Then you got 30 men. You had to do what. What other games is on there? Mike Tyson's Punch Out. Oh, Fighting was on Tech Mobile. It was not. It was on Nintendo. On the first Nintendo, there wasn't any [00:03:51] Speaker A: racing games that I can recall. [00:03:53] Speaker B: They had. They had Rad Racer. They had. But it wasn't anything that was like. [00:03:58] Speaker A: Yeah, Tecmo bowl was. Tecmo bowl got into fights. [00:04:01] Speaker B: Oh, yeah. [00:04:02] Speaker A: Growing up. Oh, yeah. [00:04:03] Speaker B: Especially if you were waiting to be the next one. [00:04:05] Speaker A: Oh, yeah. Oh, you. You kept score like it. Like your life depended on. [00:04:09] Speaker B: And they made Bo Jackson like Superman. Like he could just run over everybody, run all the way back, and then run back again. [00:04:15] Speaker A: It wasn't fair. Okay, I'm gonna switch it up a little bit. Let's go GameCube. [00:04:22] Speaker B: Ooh. [00:04:23] Speaker A: Now the GameCube. I personally growing up on GameCube, I was a Donkey Kong guy. [00:04:31] Speaker B: Okay. [00:04:32] Speaker A: Even though that's not really a 2 player. But it was more so bragging about how far in the levels you got. Because the GameCube you could go over to somebody house and see they stats. [00:04:40] Speaker B: GameCube. I think, I think that's when Crash Bandicoot started getting started getting on the map because. [00:04:46] Speaker A: Is it? [00:04:47] Speaker B: Yeah. Cuz I mean Crash Bandicoot came out before that because it was on. Oh no, that was on. That was PlayStation. [00:04:51] Speaker A: See. And that's. That's what I wanted. I was PlayStation 1 is. Was crash Bandicoot for me. [00:04:57] Speaker B: But I was no PS2. I think it was PS. PS1 and PS2 was coming right around the time the GameCube was. And crash Bandicoot. That's right. It's a place. [00:05:05] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:05:06] Speaker B: Game. It's not a Nintendo game. The golden eyes. [00:05:09] Speaker A: Golden eyes. [00:05:09] Speaker B: Golden eyes from GameCube. [00:05:10] Speaker A: I had a buddy that brought that one up and I was like that's in my. [00:05:13] Speaker B: I think that was like the Pierce Bronson error. So like Pierce Bronson Johnson was playing James Bond at that time. [00:05:18] Speaker A: He was actually. Yeah. [00:05:19] Speaker B: Anything that had to do with like race racing games from the. From Wave Race. Wave Race. [00:05:27] Speaker A: Because that was with. Because I think on the COVID it had it like from the tire angle. [00:05:30] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:05:30] Speaker A: And you could see the cars hitting [00:05:32] Speaker B: the curve and anything past Super Nintendo they did very many varieties of Mario Kart and you could have Mario kart on. On GameCube and things like that. [00:05:41] Speaker A: Yeah, that one was a little tough. But those systems though. And also if you didn't have that as a game. Did you have somebody house. [00:05:49] Speaker B: Did you have a 64? [00:05:51] Speaker A: I did not. I had friends that had the 64 [00:05:53] Speaker B: on the Nintendo 64. [00:05:54] Speaker A: The. The. [00:05:55] Speaker B: That Super Mario World on Nintendo 64 was Prima but no other Mario. [00:06:01] Speaker A: Oh, you spent hours on that. Hours. I had a buddy that had the 64 which is why we used to go to his house a lot. [00:06:07] Speaker B: Yeah. I think that came out like 95, 96. [00:06:10] Speaker A: Cuz I. It had to be cuz I was. I was eight. I was born in 92. I remember being eight years old. So like 99, 2000. [00:06:16] Speaker B: My kid was like one is when [00:06:19] Speaker A: Nintendo 64 was thumping. We're going to go to it. Since you said it. Okay. PlayStation first one that was for sure. Crash. [00:06:27] Speaker B: That's when the disc. That's when the discs were black. They were completely black. They Weren't that like that CD or that straight black. Yeah. Jet Moto. [00:06:36] Speaker A: Oh, Jet Moto. [00:06:37] Speaker B: Jet Moto was a good one to play on there. [00:06:40] Speaker A: For me, it was Crash. And then for my second, it was not that great at the time, but it was Madden. [00:06:47] Speaker B: Yeah. And it wasn't that great. [00:06:48] Speaker A: It was not. It was. It was. [00:06:50] Speaker B: It was on the. On the first PlayStation. It wasn't that good. [00:06:53] Speaker A: Now PlayStation 2. [00:06:54] Speaker B: Oh, yeah. Now, now, now we get in there. That had Madden 6. [00:06:57] Speaker A: Yes. PlayStation 2. I21. Skunk is how that got started. [00:07:02] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:07:02] Speaker A: If you couldn't. If you got skunk 21. Nothing on Madden by half. He was off the stick. [00:07:07] Speaker B: Now, at the same time, I had to balance between, because I was an adult at this time, so I could get different game consoles as I wanted to. So I had my PS2 next to my SEGA Dreamcast. [00:07:17] Speaker A: Holy. [00:07:18] Speaker B: Yeah. And the Dreamcast was cool. [00:07:20] Speaker A: Wasn't thumping like that. [00:07:21] Speaker B: Well, the Dreamcast dreamcast had the NFL 2K one. 2K two, 2K three. [00:07:27] Speaker A: And those were. [00:07:28] Speaker B: Those were pretty dope. [00:07:29] Speaker A: Those were dope. I didn't get into those till I hit PlayStation 3 or my buddy who had the Xbox 2. I think it was called an Xbox too. But I wasn't an Xbox. [00:07:37] Speaker B: Yeah, the Xbox. And then like the Xbox. 360. [00:07:39] Speaker A: Yeah, 360. That's what it was. [00:07:40] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:07:41] Speaker A: I wasn't an Xbox guy. So for all y' all Xboxes out there, don't get mad if I named stuff. [00:07:45] Speaker B: I wasn't either. Don't you. Don't begin. Don't be jumping in here talking about Xbox. [00:07:48] Speaker A: You had the same games, but you was waiting. [00:07:49] Speaker B: If you ask any Xbox fan out there, the number one thing they gonna say is we got Halo. That's all they. That's all Xbox ever produced was Halo. But then again, like Sony with PlayStation. Like, if you're doing any PlayStation when you get to PlayStation 2 now. [00:08:03] Speaker A: Okay, that's. [00:08:03] Speaker B: That's when the God of war started. [00:08:05] Speaker A: Oh, that was that. Mortal Kombat. [00:08:07] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah. [00:08:09] Speaker A: Oh, what was the other fighting one? [00:08:10] Speaker B: Oh, you had Street Fighter. [00:08:11] Speaker A: Street Fighter. [00:08:12] Speaker B: Street Fighter. [00:08:13] Speaker A: Street Fighter. [00:08:13] Speaker B: Oh, Street Fighter 2 on Super Nintendo. That was the one that everybody started with. Was like, really? Super Nintendo was. Yeah. Oh, that was tournaments. Mortal kombat, Mortal Kombat 4. You had things like. Oh, what was the name of that game where you get to pick the ones that are doing, like, the spinning kicks? It was like Final. Final. Final Fight. [00:08:33] Speaker A: Yeah. Not Final Destination. That's a movie. [00:08:35] Speaker B: I know what You Final Fantasy was another one. [00:08:37] Speaker A: Yeah. Get in the comments. By the way, if you remember the name of that, because it's really going to bug me. [00:08:40] Speaker B: But yeah, PlayStation 2. PlayStation 2 came out and that's when like the God awards the story games. [00:08:45] Speaker A: Yep. [00:08:46] Speaker B: Like Tomb Raiders. [00:08:48] Speaker A: They also made the. Wow. What was that one called? Doggone NFL Street. [00:08:53] Speaker B: Oh yeah. [00:08:54] Speaker A: Was when that happened. And they had 2K street, then they [00:08:57] Speaker B: had NBA on the one. So where you could play. You could play street ball on the, on the one you had what was. And what was it? [00:09:03] Speaker A: There was. There was two K, NBA Live, NBA Jam. [00:09:06] Speaker B: NBA Jam was like, you're heating up. [00:09:08] Speaker A: He's heating up. Those games. [00:09:11] Speaker B: You could jump from like the half court and slam dunk. Like that was. That was crazy. [00:09:15] Speaker A: Yeah. Just straight charge people. No penalty, no penalty. [00:09:17] Speaker B: That's when you had like Scotty Pippen and Michael Jordan just doubled up, yolked [00:09:22] Speaker A: out and the ripped off jean shorts still had the jersey going extra tight. [00:09:28] Speaker B: And like when you got into the other ones with Nintendo and all the other ones, you started getting up and then you. Then you started getting the game called Blitz. Oh, Blitz and Blitz. That was. [00:09:38] Speaker A: That was solely. [00:09:39] Speaker B: You talk about you. You better have you better. It was like. It was like Street Fighter. But you was playing football because like you could like clothesline people. You can grab them like, oh, it was brutal. [00:09:50] Speaker A: What Blitz reminded me of when Blitz came out, I thought somebody in real life played sideline pop football where you was literally like in the street and if it was grass, you could. You was able to actually tackle somebody. I said, somebody played that game and said, I'm going to make it a video game. Because they had all the tendencies of that. When he was on the sideline, that's when the damage was getting done. You could just tackle somebody into the stands. You could pick them up and throw. And I was like, somebody in real life played this game and said, I'm making it to a video game. [00:10:21] Speaker B: Oh yeah. [00:10:22] Speaker A: Cause I was like, there ain't no way. You got these rules and these certain things that I'm pushing recall on playing in real life. [00:10:28] Speaker B: Right, right, right. [00:10:29] Speaker A: That's when I was like, this person literally played that game in real life. And kudos to whoever that was. I'm also sad that never stayed longer than it did. I really thought back then Blitz was gonna take over at Madden. [00:10:41] Speaker B: Right. [00:10:41] Speaker A: Cause it was way more funner. It had the same philosophies as Madden, but they just made it more realistic and more entertaining, I guess is the Word. And not more logical like Madden. [00:10:53] Speaker B: Got you, got you. [00:10:54] Speaker A: Yeah. Oh, blitz. I'm pretty sure I. I destroyed my blitz. Like that was the game I would take with me to other friend's house. [00:11:02] Speaker B: Bro. You know how mad people used to get getting sacked at like the one yard line but like clothesline and brought back and they'd be like. And that was like the game. Either the game or not the game. [00:11:12] Speaker A: That game also had some of the most intense sound effects. Just straight grunts and yep, yep, yep. [00:11:20] Speaker B: And then all the shit talking in the middle of it as soon as [00:11:22] Speaker A: they're done stepping over people looking over, doing all the effects. [00:11:26] Speaker B: Even when the play's over, you're still dropping elbows. [00:11:29] Speaker A: Yeah, yep. Crazy. All right. Oh, we did say that. When we already said Mario said Maddie. Okay, we're going to talk about it. We said it. Xbox. I had a couple of friends that had an Xbox. Xbox. I think it was the second one. So Xbox 360. Mm. Because that was before black and green. Yeah, black and green. That's Xbox360. I was a fan of that one. Only because I feel like PlayStation was always just one month or two behind on Xbox and only fight only did I just behind or in front of. [00:12:05] Speaker B: I always thought PlayStation was in front of him. [00:12:07] Speaker A: I always felt like for me, I always thought they was behind because I always felt like I saw a. [00:12:13] Speaker B: Maybe it was a demographic. Maybe it was on the weather, east or west coast and all imports. [00:12:17] Speaker A: Yeah, because I felt like it was always. Xbox was always releasing a newer version. [00:12:21] Speaker B: See, I always thought it was the [00:12:22] Speaker A: two later PlayStation came out. [00:12:24] Speaker B: See, mine was opposite. [00:12:25] Speaker A: So you had PlayStation. [00:12:26] Speaker B: Like my game stops. Yeah, my game stops in my areas. It was like PlayStation stuff came out. Xbox followed. [00:12:31] Speaker A: Nope, it was Xbox. And then because I used to go to. When you went to GameStop, I'd be like, yo, when is Matt? When is when Sony coming out with a new PlayStation? Like, oh, it'll be like a couple of months after. It's always used to be like when Xbox came out with some. Just give it three months and PlayStation gonna have something out to. Yeah, probably better. [00:12:47] Speaker B: And before we start getting people getting mad at us, hey, Sean, did you have one of these game consoles? Oh, Yeah, I had PlayStation 2 was probably when I started playing the moat. [00:12:58] Speaker A: Like, did you have a black one? [00:12:59] Speaker B: Did you have an Xbox? No, I was always PlayStation. I didn't have both. Was the now, now, correct me if I'm wrong, it was the Xbox 360. The black one with the green. Or was the Xbox 360 though, the all white one that was all white. The white 360. Okay. [00:13:12] Speaker A: Because the regular one was black and green. Yep. Then 360 was white. [00:13:16] Speaker B: Was all white. Okay. [00:13:17] Speaker A: And whatever the one was after that they went back to black. [00:13:20] Speaker B: The Xbox One, I think. Yeah. Xbox One. [00:13:23] Speaker A: That's what it is. [00:13:24] Speaker B: Okay, Okay. [00:13:25] Speaker A: I. [00:13:26] Speaker B: When I said it, I was like, I know there's gonna be somebody out there. [00:13:28] Speaker A: Well, that makes sense too, because I now recall Xbox 360 when it was white. Cause that's when PlayStation 2 did a full revamp and they did the black. And it was bigger than the PlayStation because the PlayStation one was gray. It looked like. I used to say, it looks like a skinnier version of a vcr. [00:13:45] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. And it had a little lift up. Yeah, it had the little circle part. Lift up. Right. [00:13:49] Speaker A: Xbox 360 was the first time where you just put the disc and it slid in. [00:13:54] Speaker B: It slid in. I got. [00:13:55] Speaker A: You got PlayStation 2. Opened theirs and closed it. [00:13:58] Speaker B: Yeah, it was a tray. And you could stand it up or you could lay it down, but that was depending on whether you got the thick one or the thin one. [00:14:04] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah, they had. That's why. That's why it felt like they came out a month after. [00:14:08] Speaker B: If you had the thin PlayStation 2. That's what he was like. [00:14:11] Speaker A: Oh, you was fancy. Oh, yeah. You paid the extra150.150 bucks. [00:14:16] Speaker B: Even though we still wasn't. Was it. And was that wireless? Was the PlayStation 2 wireless? No, it wasn't wireless until PS3. [00:14:23] Speaker A: Three till the three. That's right. That's. Speaking of a thing that was annoying about gaming consoles being on the cord and being frustrated and they yanks it out, man. [00:14:34] Speaker B: Let me tell you some. The three. The first Nintendo, you had to jump from that little pyramid over to the flagpole and you had to time it at that certain spot so that when you hit it, it was like. It said six at the very end on the time clock. And it gave you six fireworks at the end of the thing. Boom, boom, boom, boom. Just to get it to jump from the pyramid over to the flag. You would hold the controller in your hand. [00:14:57] Speaker A: Oh, oh, you move it. [00:14:59] Speaker B: You would move people out of your way. Like you grabbing the cord and doing this. Oh, was getting you to make the jump. [00:15:07] Speaker A: Doing this, turning it, pulling it. I felt like I was fishing. Like back, lean back, all that. Not only Chords, My buddy reminded me of this too. Do you remember not having the ability to Save. [00:15:24] Speaker B: Yeah, because you didn't have a memory card. You know, memory card dog, bruh. And the paste in the PlayStation 2, the memory card was inside this, the slot. It was right above where you plugged the controller in. So right where you. You had this little memory card. Memory card. You didn't have memory card. You weren't saving that. You start your game from the beginning every single time. [00:15:42] Speaker A: Oh, yeah, and PlayStation was slightly petty about it. I know they could have fixed this if you didn't put that memory card in before you started the game. [00:15:50] Speaker B: Oh, yeah. They don't know you. [00:15:52] Speaker A: Nothing got. [00:15:52] Speaker B: They don't know you. You can get. You. Let me put it in now. No, put it in now. You gotta start over. [00:15:56] Speaker A: I never figured out why the heck that mattered, but it did. [00:15:59] Speaker B: And you know what's funny is the Dreamcast recognized that problem, so that when you put the memory card, somebody had to. Inside the Dreamcast, it had a digital screen in the controller. So when you slid the memory card in there, you could look and be like, oh, what? [00:16:15] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:16:15] Speaker B: And you can see exactly what you were looking at. Exactly what you saved. Everything that was in there and it was on screen and it was. [00:16:20] Speaker A: And what was. [00:16:21] Speaker B: I think the. I think the Nintendo 64 had a thing called a rumble pack. [00:16:26] Speaker A: Yep, they did. [00:16:27] Speaker B: And you can attach it to it to play like. I think it was Star Fox. [00:16:31] Speaker A: I can't remember the games on, but yeah, I had an extension. [00:16:34] Speaker B: And it would rumble in your hand when you put it on. [00:16:36] Speaker A: But. [00:16:36] Speaker B: But the memory card connected to that. You had to plug the memory card in the bottom of that controller. [00:16:41] Speaker A: My buddy reminded me because he was like, remember how we used to get a new game? That's why you wanted to just play it all day. Right? [00:16:47] Speaker B: Right. [00:16:47] Speaker A: There was no pausing, no. Or if you did pause it to go eat TV. Had to be on PlayStation. Had you? [00:16:53] Speaker B: Yep. [00:16:54] Speaker A: Don't turn it off. Hoping. Hoping to God it wasn't a power outage. [00:16:58] Speaker B: You know how mad people used to be if you forgot to save it and you had the power to save it. [00:17:02] Speaker A: Oh. [00:17:03] Speaker B: If you had the ways to save it and you didn't say, but it was even worse or. [00:17:06] Speaker A: So PlayStation 2. [00:17:08] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:17:09] Speaker A: PlayStation 2. No, PlayStation 3. When you had the ability to travel with the memory card in the disc, where you could put the disc. And right above was living car slot. So you go to somebody house and you're like, yo, help me on this level. Forgot the damn memory card. Can't play. Because I'm not. I'm not Starting from the beginning. [00:17:26] Speaker B: Right, right, right. [00:17:27] Speaker A: And it ain't gonna do me no good for you to help me on this new level. [00:17:30] Speaker B: See, and that's what, that's what I like about it now. Like the PlayStation, you got your PlayStation memberships, you got your stuff so all your games can be played, no matter what's going in there. I'm loving it right now. [00:17:37] Speaker A: It's great. But back then, dog, that memory card. [00:17:41] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:17:41] Speaker A: And that controller. [00:17:43] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:17:43] Speaker A: If you didn't have one of those or when your parents used to buy you a new console, or at least my parents did, and I'd be pissed because they didn't buy the memory card. So it's like, I can't play tonight. [00:17:55] Speaker B: Right, Right, right, right, right, right. [00:17:56] Speaker A: Cuz why are you so upset? I like it, mom. But you didn't get the memory card. [00:18:01] Speaker B: You know what? [00:18:01] Speaker A: You didn't get the controller. That's wireless. [00:18:03] Speaker B: You know what's funny is you ever get it to where you play it and you. And you can't save it and then you put it back in and then your parents it the first time, but it's like your third time, right? And then when you playing it, they think it's brand new. And then you running through it just like, yeah, this ain't nothing. This ain't nothing. This ain't nothing. They like, well then why do we get you this game if you could just run through it like this? And it's like, you guys don't understand, like you didn't give me a memory card, right? So I've been playing these things like this constantly, that. And, but they think because they ain't never seen you play yet, they like, whoa, this is too easy, right? No, I had to learn this the last three days. The last three last three days I was in there without having to save it. I had to keep going. [00:18:39] Speaker A: Duh. The memory card was, man, whenever that came in, it was game changer. Because I also felt it was so much anxiety playing. Like, it was like, I gotta finish, I'm on a time crunch. Like, I gotta be good. Or you used to have a buddy be like, yo, I'm pretty sure mom is getting me the game. [00:18:56] Speaker B: You know? [00:18:57] Speaker A: You know, I know you had it and you were stuck on this one level. I need you to come over to help me. [00:19:00] Speaker B: You know what? You know what's funny is now is like if you're part of like the PlayStation membership stuff, right? [00:19:05] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:19:06] Speaker B: You can play old school nostalgic games like the old school Tomb Raiders, the Old school, God of wars, things like that, right? And it's funny because when you playing it, it's like, do you want to save. And it. And it goes through the whole thing. It even shows like we're going to save it to the memory card. And it's like, dude, there ain't no memory card. Nothing. Right? [00:19:22] Speaker A: There ain't no memory card, memory card no more. [00:19:24] Speaker B: But you still save it. It just does that on the screen. [00:19:27] Speaker A: And then it have to. [00:19:28] Speaker B: And it saves it to your regular. Like you don't need a memory card. [00:19:32] Speaker A: It gives you a nice little flashback. [00:19:34] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. But it gave me a little anxiety because I was like, I was like, wait, do I need a card? Do I need to put in. Are you trying to tell me something right now? [00:19:42] Speaker A: They get on the phone, Amazon yourself. Yeah, like a PlayStation 3. [00:19:46] Speaker B: That's not even. Like it don't even exist. You can't put in memory card for PS5. No. [00:19:51] Speaker A: There's no slot. No, it's just all inside now. Oh, that's so good. What was else I was about to say I lost my train of thought. Shoot. [00:19:58] Speaker B: Oh. [00:20:00] Speaker A: Talking about how it has evolved, do you also remember when the gaming system had to be in the TV downstairs? So having to battle. Wait a minute, not battle, but basically for me, like. So when my parents got me my own system, it had to be in the living room. It was like, you're not gonna have it in your room. But I also had to respect if my parents wanted to watch tv. So I had certain times I could play the game. [00:20:31] Speaker B: And you had to be in the basement? [00:20:34] Speaker A: No, I was in the living room. But literally I would be stressed because I'd be starting the game and if it's like 6 o' clock and I know at 6:30 my mom gonna watch the show. I got 30 minutes to either get through this game. Cause I can't leave it on, can't save it. So I was under the impression of always there was pressure to play. [00:20:52] Speaker B: Has there ever been a time where you were sitting down playing and you was told, look, you're done. Oh, and, and hold on, hold on. And you just like, I get that, I get that. I'm done. But I, I just, I'm like right there and then out of the, out of the blue it just goes off power. And it's not because it was a power outage. It's not because it was none. And you look up and you see your folks standing next to this thing and just like I told you, I Told you. Like, we didn't have a separate. Like we had a. What do they call that? It wasn't, it wasn't a den. It was like a family room. [00:21:31] Speaker A: Yeah, like a family room. [00:21:32] Speaker B: It was like a little room, but it was. It was more near the back door of the house. Yeah, and it was, it was that little area. Like, we couldn't have the main living room. Like, that wasn't going in the main living room. My dad controlled that whole front area. [00:21:43] Speaker A: It's the typical, like, gaming room now. But it's. It wasn't a gaming room because it was still a part of. [00:21:49] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:21:49] Speaker A: To be able to hang out with family, but it's where you could put like all the cousins and the in laws and the kids. [00:21:55] Speaker B: Have you ever tried to play a game and it got so intense, but you all had to keep the volume down so much to where you knew if somebody scream, yelled anything, everybody was in trouble and the shit was going off. [00:22:07] Speaker A: Oh, I, I think gaming back then taught you a lot of how to [00:22:14] Speaker B: be stealth and get shit done. [00:22:17] Speaker A: Cause, yeah, you. Because you had that one cousin. It's like, bro, no, no, no, you got it. You got to do that. You got to dog. What are you doing? [00:22:23] Speaker B: Especially if you had to hit them buttons hella quick and all you heard [00:22:25] Speaker A: was on both sides. But you also had to be delicate with it because. Because even if anything was loud, your voice, the controller. So it'd be like. [00:22:38] Speaker B: Okay, and so. Okay, hold on now. See what you just did right now, what you did was you. [00:22:42] Speaker A: You turn now you had to. Okay, but you also hit the start button so you could pause. [00:22:47] Speaker B: Okay, but when you turn, what you looking for? Are you. You see, that's. [00:22:51] Speaker A: That's. [00:22:52] Speaker B: You know what we're looking for. I know, I know. I know what you're looking for. Because when you did that, that was. I was just about to ask you. You ever had them where you knew you was getting loud because they could lean back on the couch? [00:23:03] Speaker A: That's what you was looking for. Make sure nobody was leaning. [00:23:05] Speaker B: See, that's what I'm saying. But you did that with so much reflex that it was just. It was just normal for you. [00:23:11] Speaker A: It was left shoulders all day. Left, bro. Right shoulder was. That was too much turning because you, you got to still look at the game like, you can't. Left shoulder all day, bro. I think that's why my peripherals are so good. Like this, this left shoulder and this. I had this. You had to see everything. [00:23:31] Speaker B: Oh, my goodness, My goodness. [00:23:34] Speaker A: This Neck right here. That turn just. [00:23:37] Speaker B: And you did it so nonchalant just a minute ago. You just. You just like, like, like this was. This is how you do when you. Because you even had your fingers in it. [00:23:45] Speaker A: Oh, bro. Okay, right thumb. Start button. [00:23:48] Speaker B: See, I knew you were there three. [00:23:50] Speaker A: You was there three to four clicks. I knew you was there three to four clicks. Start button. Turn. Start button. [00:23:55] Speaker B: Was it hard? Was it. Was it loud? Was it. [00:23:58] Speaker A: Oh, always it was. Hit it quiet. And then you also had to make sure if you still could hear the adults talking that you knew nobody else. [00:24:06] Speaker B: How many times you. How many times have you had to be quiet playing with somebody else, competing with somebody else and at the same time you trying to smack the controller out their hand. But. But you got to keep it quiet. Oh, but you still. And you hit. And you hit they shit. And then you hit they shit. Then they hit your shit. And then it's like. [00:24:23] Speaker A: And it's because you mad. But you guys also understand the situation. [00:24:27] Speaker B: Yes. [00:24:28] Speaker A: There is no. [00:24:29] Speaker B: That's what's. That's what's so funny. You can create. It's like control chaos. [00:24:32] Speaker A: Yes. [00:24:33] Speaker B: It's. [00:24:33] Speaker A: It's. [00:24:34] Speaker B: We learned how to control chaos using video games. [00:24:36] Speaker A: That was more stressful than being outside. [00:24:39] Speaker B: I think so. [00:24:39] Speaker A: Because outside trying to like trying to be competitive. Yeah. On a gaming system. Quietly and quiet. [00:24:47] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:24:48] Speaker A: And a dog. [00:24:49] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:24:49] Speaker A: High fiving. Like you. You say your friend that you usually would like chest bump. And you just knew with each other when we in business mode, it was like. [00:24:59] Speaker B: You ever stand up and you get more noise just because you standing. [00:25:06] Speaker A: I think that's why as an adult I talk to my. Yeah. Cause you had. You had to kind of like. [00:25:14] Speaker B: Oh yeah. [00:25:14] Speaker A: Pep yourself up and also calm yourself down. Oh yeah. Like you ever had a friend was smacking the control and as soon as you was ready to go, he's like, don't do it. Don't do it. [00:25:23] Speaker B: Yeah. Oh yeah. 100%. [00:25:25] Speaker A: Sit down. Take this. L. Keep it running. [00:25:28] Speaker B: Keep it running. [00:25:29] Speaker A: Don't do it. Don't crash out. Cause if you do, we both are done. [00:25:33] Speaker B: Both done. [00:25:33] Speaker A: Yep. [00:25:34] Speaker B: Yep. [00:25:34] Speaker A: Dog. He said, did you ever use after. [00:25:38] Speaker B: Yeah. And yeah. As soon as you went left, that's how I knew. I knew that was replay. That's what I'm saying. It's like you knew because everybody did that. We all sat to where it was like that. Even if. Yo. Even if. Even if you ever move furniture just so that you knew you could have that peripheral. Oh yeah. But we gotta Move. We gotta move the couch just so we could see. [00:25:57] Speaker A: But you also see that you also. It was a team effort because you had to move the couch. And then if your parents asked you why. [00:26:03] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:26:03] Speaker A: It was like, well, I wanted such and so to sit right. So they weren't blocking xy. [00:26:07] Speaker B: Not even that you had to see which way he was gonna position the game console. Only had so much control wire that you had to. [00:26:12] Speaker A: Oh, you couldn't sit in. [00:26:13] Speaker B: Yeah, you had to. Yeah. [00:26:15] Speaker A: It was like an auditorium. Yeah. Whoever was playing, you are front and center. If you on the, if you on the right, the left side, you are up next. If you in the back, you, you keeping watch. You just, you don't get to watch the game. [00:26:27] Speaker B: You fan base right now. You fan base, you just in the back picking somebody right now. You play some bets. You ain't even in this right now. Yeah, especially if you playing like Street Fighter or Mortal Kombat. Oh yeah. People in the back making bets all [00:26:39] Speaker A: day, all day, all day. And then telling you to run it back. Cause they lost. [00:26:43] Speaker B: Yep. [00:26:44] Speaker A: Dog. The also thing too was you had to be quiet. Cause when the parents came in, there was no negotiating. It was like the more bodies you had playing the game, you had less wiggle room when it was time to cut it off. [00:26:58] Speaker B: I don't know if you guys used to do this as kids, but we used to come up with leagues of us where we had friends that we come over. Okay, we're going over to Rick's house and we gonna play this and then we gonna go over here to Edison's house. We gonna play. We had leagues and go. [00:27:10] Speaker A: Oh, every, every, every friend's house. [00:27:12] Speaker B: A competition. Would you ever get so mad at somebody but you can't yell and scream because the parents are in the house. But you just so mad at them right now like. But you can't be mad because you got to be respectful in their house. Cuz it ain't your house. But you want to just hit them with a controller or you want all day you, you tell yourself even in your head, if this was at my house, I'd have hit you with the controller. [00:27:33] Speaker A: Yep. [00:27:34] Speaker B: I would have threw this. I would have. That would have. [00:27:35] Speaker A: Yeah, you, you still had to be respectful. It's like mom and dad raised me right. Yeah. [00:27:40] Speaker B: But you, you ever stop yourself from throwing your friend's controller where you just like they look at you like you about to do what? [00:27:46] Speaker A: Like, I'm sorry, this ain't my house. This ain't my house. You're right, you're right. So we had. Not only did we have leagues, we had tears. There were certain friends had to prove themselves to play somebody. It'd be like, if we go into your house and it was like, I want to play you, Sean. It's like, oh, no, bro, you got to play John first. Well, I got to play Jon, bro. There's levels to me, Brian, my crib some. [00:28:09] Speaker B: And I knew some kids that started like training. I'm like, dude, all you're doing is pushing a button. What you training for? They say you ain't got to train. You got to do push ups and sit ups. [00:28:17] Speaker A: I was like, bro, it's. It got like that, bro. Be on the sideline from somebody that was. That's been freshly just. [00:28:24] Speaker B: Yeah, right, you're right. [00:28:26] Speaker A: You get a little. It's dumb. Actually. It ain't dumb. You've been in the comments. You know what it's about. You be stiff sometimes and sometimes you don't get a warmup. So you gotta come in. [00:28:34] Speaker B: No, that's true, that's true. [00:28:35] Speaker A: You gotta come in heavy. [00:28:37] Speaker B: Got you. [00:28:38] Speaker A: There was times I go to friend's house, literally. Ms. Johnson, how you doing? As I'm walking up the stairs to go to his room and I can just hear in there, I'm like, here [00:28:48] Speaker B: we go, here we go, here we go. [00:28:49] Speaker A: I know he about to talk a bunch of smack. He about to tell me how he done warmed up and I don't get to warm up. And we gonna play Madden. And I can't get bro, for me, growing up, it went all the way to the school. If you got 21 skunked at half, that was worse than like a teacher sending you to detention. You get off the bus. What up 21 skunk? How'd you hear that? Oh, Chris told me that last night, bro. [00:29:16] Speaker B: And that shit will stay with you. That nickname will stay with you for the rest of your life. [00:29:19] Speaker A: You could play 14 maddens and beat somebody and you still be called 21 skunk. [00:29:24] Speaker B: You cannot see them for the next eight years. Walk in on them while they playing and they're like, yo, what's up 21's cunt? [00:29:32] Speaker A: That's why when you were like, I don't get people who want bro. That there was street cred. [00:29:37] Speaker B: That game when you can hear the buttons being pushed before you walk in the room, you just knew the minute you walk in, they like, oh, shit, look at this dude. Like, you think you just gonna walk up in here, what's up 21 skunk. You know what happened last time. [00:29:49] Speaker A: 21 skunk would get you. Would get you demoted, too. Yeah. You could have been undefeated. Yeah, it don't matter. Yeah, you playing Richard. [00:29:58] Speaker B: It don't matter, bro. [00:29:58] Speaker A: Richard can't play. Well, 21 skunk, sound like you can't play either. [00:30:01] Speaker B: You could have 100 wins and one loss. And that one loss, ain't nobody gonna let you live down. [00:30:05] Speaker A: Never. [00:30:06] Speaker B: They're gonna like, yeah. Oh, but I got 100 wins. Yeah. Remember that one time you got your ass whooped? [00:30:12] Speaker A: It didn't matter the game either. It could have been. It could be. [00:30:14] Speaker B: Did you even score, dog? [00:30:17] Speaker A: The worst one was, so when you play Mario Kart or Super Mario and you'd be racing, you better. You better not lose to a computer. That was almost worse than 21 skunk. If you lost to the computer. [00:30:29] Speaker B: Oh, yeah. [00:30:30] Speaker A: Of the game. [00:30:30] Speaker B: Oh, yeah. [00:30:31] Speaker A: You got street cred was done. Your street cred was. I think one time somebody got sent, whoever. [00:30:36] Speaker B: It was like, up to four people that could play at the same time. [00:30:39] Speaker A: I think it was four. [00:30:40] Speaker B: And it was like one dude. When. When you did get beat, it was that one dude that was all good to the other two. Look at this. Look at this motherfucker right here trying [00:30:46] Speaker A: to get in here. [00:30:46] Speaker B: Look at him. Look at him. Did you just get beat by Toad, then told beat your ass. What you. What you trying to get up in here? How you trying to get third place? Get out of here. You ain't get third. You getting six. Don't you come in two behind these other cats. [00:30:58] Speaker A: You can't get beat by the computer. Get in. I really want to say, growing up, for me, beating, Getting beat by the computer was probably worse than 21 skunk. 21 skunk was down there. No. [00:31:09] Speaker B: 21 skunk. [00:31:10] Speaker A: It was embarrassing. [00:31:11] Speaker B: That's bad. [00:31:11] Speaker A: It's bad. [00:31:12] Speaker B: That's. That's bad. That's bad. [00:31:13] Speaker A: Bad. [00:31:14] Speaker B: Especially when you playing like a Madden or something. Like, I mean, there's plays that happen in Madden, which you got to admit, where you just looking, you go, how? [00:31:21] Speaker A: Yeah, like how? But. But it can't be that bad, though. [00:31:25] Speaker B: But I mean. [00:31:25] Speaker A: But 21 nothing. [00:31:26] Speaker B: Those. Exactly. So you should get at least seven. [00:31:29] Speaker A: You. Oh, you're saying you should get one of those. [00:31:31] Speaker B: Something. One of them should work in your favor. One of these Hail Marys should connect. [00:31:37] Speaker A: Never. [00:31:37] Speaker B: If you do 20 Hail Marys on. On Madden, I guarantee you, right? Like six. Six of those might hit. [00:31:44] Speaker A: You ever had that, friend? That was the ultimate smack Talker and could not play a lick. [00:31:49] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:31:50] Speaker A: Or there was always something. It's your controller. You gave me the messed up controller. My hands was greasy. [00:31:56] Speaker B: Oh, yeah. [00:31:57] Speaker A: Such. And so was on this controller before me. So every excuse. [00:32:01] Speaker B: Oh, man. I'm used to playing on Xbox and the buttons are different. I hate ethics and the buttons are different. So like, this one has a joystick here, but the other one has a joystick there. [00:32:12] Speaker A: I always knew the guy that had no skills because especially in Madden, if you got a first down on them, they'd be like, see, this is totally different. It's like, bro, you that defeated? Yeah, I got one first down, one place in the contest. [00:32:25] Speaker B: What folks didn't. Didn't know, okay? And this is just for everybody out there. If you take the controllers and you hold them up, whether I say hit A or hit X, guess what? [00:32:34] Speaker A: It's the same spot. [00:32:35] Speaker B: It's in the same spot. [00:32:36] Speaker A: It took me until high school, but [00:32:39] Speaker B: it's just crazy how people are. The buttons are different. They're not different. They just differently labeled. [00:32:43] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:32:44] Speaker B: Instead of saying X and square and circle and triangle, your says A, B, C. Yeah, but it don't matter. [00:32:50] Speaker A: But if you really know how to play. Yeah, you don't need. You don't need to know. [00:32:53] Speaker B: You don't even need to look. You don't even need to look. You should just be hitting that. Where that thing goes down the bottom, [00:32:57] Speaker A: go to the left. Guarantee you're gonna sprint. You gonna do. You're gonna do same thing. Move you're gonna go. Know how to thing? Yeah. It took me to high school and I realized that and I was like, man, I'm glad I never used that. I hated that. [00:33:06] Speaker B: So, yeah, it was a whole kind of. And they only use the excuse when they losing. Now if they win and they don't say nothing or. Except for like. Or they'll say some stupid shit like. Like, yeah. Even on Xbox, I'm dope at this now. I didn't know I was this good on PlayStation is like, you ain't shit. I just been there. When you go. Then they. Once they start losing in like the [00:33:26] Speaker A: third quarter, everything, that's when they go, well, this controller is too big. [00:33:29] Speaker B: I'm used to. I'm used to Xbox. It's the. It's the shape of the waist. It sits in my hand. [00:33:35] Speaker A: People used to tell me they'd be like, your place has a controller too small, it don't matter. It matters. [00:33:40] Speaker B: Trigger in the same spot here. R1, R2, shut up that big of [00:33:44] Speaker A: a difference to go from this to this. [00:33:46] Speaker B: No, it's not. [00:33:47] Speaker A: I used to hate the size comparison on my Xbox. It just. It feel way better. Like I'm more relaxed. Really. A controller got you that tight? Yeah, a controller got you that tight, bro. [00:33:59] Speaker B: That's Xbox users. [00:34:00] Speaker A: I used to say there'll be somebody Xbox users, somebody about to be heated, [00:34:03] Speaker B: they're about to be mad, they're gonna [00:34:04] Speaker A: be like, it's true though. It's true. [00:34:06] Speaker B: I ain't never owned an Xbox, never had one. But I've had PlayStations and Nintendo. That's pretty much where I stay. [00:34:10] Speaker A: I've same. And when I used to play on an Xbox, I used to never complain about it. I felt like it was always the opposite. It was always the Xboxer complaining more than the PlayStation. [00:34:18] Speaker B: Like when you was talking about in the beginning with the portables, like it was either. It was either Nintendo or it was PlayStation that I was using for portables. [00:34:24] Speaker A: Oh, they need to bring the PSP back. O100 that thing. [00:34:28] Speaker B: 100 nothing. Messed with the PSP. I don't care what nobody say. I put the PSP against anything. [00:34:33] Speaker A: Yeah, I would. [00:34:34] Speaker B: Anything. I would music to movies, to games. Like everything was for what it was at that time. Like what? [00:34:40] Speaker A: Nothing. [00:34:40] Speaker B: Touching it. [00:34:41] Speaker A: Nothing. Because it had WI fi on it. [00:34:45] Speaker B: Oh yeah. [00:34:46] Speaker A: When WI fi was free, bro, I [00:34:48] Speaker B: had that hooked up to my truck. I was watching movies in my truck because you could plug it into the thing and play and all my music was downloaded to it. I could flip through it. It just. Man, it was so perfect. Any type of traveling. Oh yeah, perfect. [00:35:00] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:35:01] Speaker B: If I could have a PSP now I want one. [00:35:02] Speaker A: If you got a psp, put it in the comments. Just.
