Episode Transcript
[00:00:00] Speaker A: If you need tools, if you need landscape and stuff, go to Harbor Freight first.
[00:00:04] Speaker B: Just, just, just don't even beat around the bush. Don't, don't even try to go someplace else and try to look for something else. Don't just go straight to your Harbor Freight. Walk in there and even ask somebody. Somebody will guide you to it. Somebody will grab you and be like, look, this is what you're looking for. This is what we got.
[00:00:19] Speaker A: And the price is the price.
[00:00:21] Speaker B: Oh my goodness.
[00:00:24] Speaker A: 20 in the city. Aloha, dog. Fix your face, man. Why you. You should be happy, bro. We got. We're like a couple of weeks either way. December 10th, we're doing our live for the win anniversary. Why you looking like somebody stole your cash or somebody stole your puppy?
[00:00:39] Speaker B: Cuz you got it right the first time. Harbor Freight got me.
[00:00:42] Speaker A: Got me.
[00:00:43] Speaker B: No, got me. They shot me right in my debit card.
Shot you Right, right in the middle of my debit card. Right in the middle of the heart of my debit card.
[00:00:51] Speaker A: We all know you are a grown ass man. You decided to make that paycheck. You decide to spend that money.
[00:00:59] Speaker B: I shouldn't have been presented with the choice.
[00:01:01] Speaker A: Okay, well, first of all, you should never went. But go ahead, share your story.
[00:01:04] Speaker B: I had to go. I'm finishing up all the stuff on my boat. So I'm getting all the little stuff in there. All the little like the hoses and stuff in the lines. Everything worked out perfect. Was going through there. Now what got me was that stupid impulse that impulse buys.
[00:01:17] Speaker A: Don't be mad.
[00:01:18] Speaker B: Don't be mad, okay? I wouldn't be mad. This, I wouldn't be mad if the impulse things was like on the side, but they actually turned it into like a tunnel that the line has to go through. I don't know if you know what I'm talking about. You walk through it. You have to. It's like a maze. But that whole maze is just one big like impulse.
[00:01:35] Speaker A: Oh yeah, yeah, yeah.
[00:01:37] Speaker B: You have to walk through it.
[00:01:39] Speaker A: I bought a freaking headlamp that I don't need. But it was just convenient price. I know that aisle you talking about. Okay, keep going.
[00:01:45] Speaker B: So I'm in there. I find. I find what I came to get.
[00:01:49] Speaker A: So what did you have to do?
[00:01:50] Speaker B: What it came to get. So I'm walking and I'm like, I'm. I'm trying to keep my head up.
I'm trying to keep my. Because I already see everything on the side and I'm like, I'm not gonna look I'm not gonna look, I'm not gonna look.
[00:02:01] Speaker A: But you look.
[00:02:02] Speaker B: I'm looking, I'm looking. And then I'm like, okay, they have those little things for the sockets for your, for your sockets that you can put on your screw gun so that you can do the, the different sizes.
[00:02:11] Speaker A: Oh, yeah.
[00:02:11] Speaker B: Half inch, quarter inch, you know, and it's. And there's three different sizes because the sockets go from three different inserts, do.
[00:02:17] Speaker A: Like a half, a quarter, an eighth or something like that. Yeah, yeah. Y.
[00:02:20] Speaker B: Usually one of those things is anywhere from three to five dollars.
Yeah, they had all three in one kit for like four bucks.
[00:02:31] Speaker A: Damn. Yeah, they got you.
They got you, dog.
[00:02:33] Speaker B: Then it was next to the, you know, the 24 AAA batteries for $6. I'm like, what?
[00:02:39] Speaker A: You probably don't need no batteries right now, but you gotta get it. It's a steal.
[00:02:43] Speaker B: 90% of what I paid for came from that line.
Came from me standing in line. 90 of what I bought that day came.
[00:02:53] Speaker A: All right, let me ask you this, then. Not only are you frustrated, are you so also frustrated because did you go get a socket from somewhere else at. Oh, oh, see, there's the truth right there. That's. That's what happened. You was disloyal. If you would have just went to Harbor Freight first, you would. That's what happened. You found out the whole.
[00:03:12] Speaker B: Wrong. Wait a minute, wait a minute, wait a minute, wait a minute. First of all, no, that's not what happened. I had bought it previously before, and I, and I, and I was missing it, right? Because I was looking at that. I only had one of those sizes, and I was like, I was mad at that, but I knew I had it somewhere. But when I seen it for a, A package of three, all three sizes in one, it just made sense to grab four of them.
[00:03:35] Speaker A: Where? That's four of them. We ain't shaming nobody. But where, where did you.
[00:03:38] Speaker B: I spent 16 at.
[00:03:40] Speaker A: Where at Harbor. Oh, no, no. I mean the other ones. Yeah. Where, where did you go make the mistake of go buying it some from somewhere else? That was only three places.
[00:03:47] Speaker B: That was at Home Depot, okay? That was at home, people. That I, that I made the mistake there. And now. And what's even funnier is that I, I, I now when I put it back in there, I put it right next to the one that I already had. So now I got more of them.
[00:04:01] Speaker A: Well, now you got more. And now, you know, I'm telling you this, and a month later, I'm gonna get Hit by Harper.
[00:04:08] Speaker B: Yeah, I know what's gonna happen.
[00:04:09] Speaker A: I'm gonna happen.
[00:04:10] Speaker B: They gonna have a tape measure that lights up and puts a hologram when you pull it out. And it's gonna hologram up and then.
[00:04:15] Speaker A: Well, this is.
[00:04:16] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:04:17] Speaker A: Again, Harbor Freight. If you out there, we. We love you. Oh, this is the time. Here's. Here's what's probably going to happen too.
This is probably the time. And I don't know how because the membership is free.
But somebody about to get the hell of a deal of a Christmas membership. Oh, yeah, because somebody going to get that. I. Oh, they don't get the bucket. They go, they might get a fricking drill starter kit set. Somebody going to get the free membership. That's. I don't get it. How you going make free more exciting than what it already is for?
[00:04:47] Speaker B: No, they can, but they're gonna do it. They gonna find a way.
[00:04:49] Speaker A: Gonna do it. Oh, yeah, they go, they gonna make me want to find a way my membership just so I can get the free membership benefit.
[00:04:55] Speaker B: And is it. Is it you or is it or is it me? But like, I didn't really realize how much I needed a bucket until I actually had my house dog. Once I got my house, like in the apartment when I lived in an apartment, I could go in the in and out of Harbor Freight and they'd be like, you want a bucket? I'm like, no, I'm good now. I'm good now. I'm always looking for a bucket.
[00:05:13] Speaker A: I. I'll do you one better.
I mean, I might not do you one better. My wife will be annoyed I try to find a reason to use that bucket. I could be taking out the trash and I'll be like, you know what? I need that bucket. She be like, why? There's a little bit of stuff on the bottom. Let me just get that. I try to use that bucket.
[00:05:30] Speaker B: I don't know why.
[00:05:31] Speaker A: It just don't feel good about using. I don't Harbor Freight. Different dog. It just.
I feel too good using. Like, I will take that bucket with me anywhere. If I'm going to my buddy's house to do something, do I need to put my tools in that bucket? I don't. All I need is my screw gun and a Phillips or something. I'll put it in the bucket. You just never know that bucket. It's the damnedest thing. It's just a simple ass bucket and it's rare and it says Harbor Freight. But it gives me so much joy to use it. And I can't tell you why. It's. If anybody can relate, maybe I'm just cuckoo. I love that bucket.
[00:06:06] Speaker B: I'll tell you when I say, when I got into construction, the bucket was my first toolbox. And that's because they used to have these things that. And I think they still sell them, but they go on the bucket.
[00:06:14] Speaker A: Bucket. Oh, yeah.
[00:06:15] Speaker B: Go around so that you can put all your tools and stuff around there. That was my first tool. My first toolbox was a bucket.
[00:06:21] Speaker A: Well, it's the. It's the best freaking tool. Which, by the way, until you put.
[00:06:24] Speaker B: Too much in it and then you end up breaking the wire, the handle, and you got to hold it from the bottom.
[00:06:30] Speaker A: It goes first. When I feel like, because I don't know about you, when I would have a bucket doing landscaping, I would throw so much stuff in it. I'm like, the bottom of that bucket's got to give at some point.
[00:06:38] Speaker B: Like, I have.
[00:06:39] Speaker A: I have thrown some stuff in there. Something is like port knocks, but the handle ain't. Nope. And the handle is made of metal. Yep. That's what I never got.
How's the plastic bucket out here outlasting a metal handle?
[00:06:53] Speaker B: Yep, that's true.
[00:06:54] Speaker A: That's true. I don't get it, bro. But no, seriously. But if you do any sort of. Any type of housework. I don't even want to say housework. If you need tools, if you need landscaping stuff, go to Harbor Freight first.
[00:07:09] Speaker B: Just, just, just don't even beat around the bush.
[00:07:12] Speaker A: Don't.
[00:07:12] Speaker B: Don't even try to go someplace else and try to something else. Don't just go straight to your Harbor Freight. Walk in there and even ask somebody. Somebody will guide you to it. Somebody will grab you and be like, look, this is what you're looking for. This is what we got.
[00:07:24] Speaker A: And the price is the price.
[00:07:26] Speaker B: Oh, my goodness.
[00:07:27] Speaker A: I don't know how you can beat the price for just regular people. You know what I found out, being a member, but you can. But the price for regular people is still great.
[00:07:35] Speaker B: You know what I find out is like, you know how you. You kind of price things in your head.
[00:07:39] Speaker A: Oh.
[00:07:39] Speaker B: To what you think it's going to cost you? Before you walk into the store, you kind of like, oh, I got to get this. That's probably going to cost me like $6. You go in expecting to spend because you're telling yourself it's going to be like $20. Then you walk in the Harbor Freight and you feel. You like, dude, for $20, I can get three of them.
[00:07:56] Speaker A: Oh, it's.
[00:07:58] Speaker B: Then it ends up being three of them. And that's why they give you a free bucket. They know, they know what you walking out with.
[00:08:02] Speaker A: It's the best. Whatever the guy version of the girl math. It's the best, best version of that. Because I walk in, I'm ready to spend 20, I have accepted it. I am okay with it because it's what I need.
Then when you find out, telling me it's only for $6, I got 17 extra dollars.
[00:08:19] Speaker B: So that's, that's, that's what you can't do. Okay. And I'm gonna. That's what you can do. You can't send a man, you can't send a man into a toy store because that's what tools are to us.
[00:08:29] Speaker A: Oh.
[00:08:29] Speaker B: Like you can't send us in and with $20, right? And then be like, just get your tool. And you think as a, as a man, you think to yourself, right? You're like, okay, so $20 spend on tool. Then you go, and you go, I got tool. How much is tool?
Five bucks. You're like, what do I do with the other 15?
[00:08:48] Speaker A: I go find something.
[00:08:49] Speaker B: Yeah. And it's hard cuz now we stuck, right? Now we like, okay, we got that one. But I still got $15 left, bro.
[00:08:54] Speaker A: And that's a. And once you figure out you bought something for five, that's a lot of damage you can do. Oh yeah, that's so. And I'm afraid that's a lot of damage, bro.
[00:09:02] Speaker B: You start walking out with stuff. I was walking out with magnifying glasses. I didn't even know what I was.
[00:09:05] Speaker A: Going to do with them.
[00:09:06] Speaker B: I just knew I could get. I can get like three of them for $8. Like I was just like, I don't even know what to do with these magnifying I.
[00:09:11] Speaker A: At. At the checkout. I'm assuming you go to the one off of Caldwell Boulevard.
[00:09:15] Speaker B: Yep, I do. That's my spot.
[00:09:18] Speaker A: One, two. So when you're in the line second from the right.
[00:09:23] Speaker B: Okay.
[00:09:23] Speaker A: I don't know what it is about that one.
It always has, you know, the little.
What was that? The little like candy jar that had. That used to have like in school had like the gum drops with the jawbreakers. They have one of those right by the register.
Every time I have gone, they have for like anywhere from $0.89 to A$15.
The most useful car utility I need.
First one was a little headlamp. Just, just a quick little one that it magnetizes to your watch or to your phone or to whatever or to.
[00:09:59] Speaker B: Your car when you're trying to work it on under the hood or something.
[00:10:01] Speaker A: Led. Don't need a battery. Just two clicks, big light, three clicks.
[00:10:07] Speaker B: Like it. Like it.
[00:10:08] Speaker A: Got that like a dollar ten. I go back three days later. So I'm like, I don't. I already need. I don't got that too. I don't need it. Why do they have colored pocket knives with a magnet on the back?
[00:10:21] Speaker B: I got.
[00:10:21] Speaker A: For a $10, I got myself two. I got my wife too. And I even got one in pink, four and white.
I can't.
That is really my. My crutch is when I go to check out.
[00:10:36] Speaker B: And this was right there by that register.
[00:10:38] Speaker A: By that second, I know exactly how it goes. You're at the register. Here's the.
[00:10:42] Speaker B: Here's the register on the way home.
[00:10:44] Speaker A: Here's your display. And right underneath. I'm going.
[00:10:46] Speaker B: I'm going there as soon as we get done. As soon as we get done, I'm going right there.
[00:10:49] Speaker A: Picture. Because this was about a week ago. So they might got something brand new that I might need. But every time I go in that checkout line again, it's the whole, do I need it? No. But in the moment, I will be so glad when I have that. You know how many times I just want a little pocket knife to just open side. I don't need my big metal flick. Got the knife. Got the Phillips on the other side. It's in a little knife, right?
[00:11:09] Speaker B: Remember when I came out and I brought that in that toolbox? That little ass toolbox. Oh, you went right out and you got that same toolbox every time I go into Harbor Freight.
[00:11:18] Speaker A: And if you.
[00:11:18] Speaker B: If you work at Harbor Freight, this is a real question.
This is a real question.
[00:11:23] Speaker A: This is it is. Everything up until this point was.
No, this.
[00:11:27] Speaker B: No. This is a real question that I'm asking the real employee. That toolbox represents the top part of the big part of a toolbox.
So you have the big rolling part, and then that part goes on top of it.
[00:11:39] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:11:40] Speaker B: So they made that little top part first.
When y' all coming out with the little rolling part.
That's what I want.
[00:11:47] Speaker A: You don't need it.
[00:11:48] Speaker B: I do need it. I need that. I need it. If you came out with it, I would probably.
[00:11:53] Speaker A: I.
[00:11:53] Speaker B: It'd be ridiculous. It'd be ridiculous because I would get it because it would have. You know what I'm talking about? Like the bottom part that rolls.
[00:11:59] Speaker A: Rolls.
[00:11:59] Speaker B: And it's locked. And you open it up, and it's got.
[00:12:01] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:12:02] Speaker B: You telling me if they came out with that, that you wouldn't get that just so you can put your other toolbox on top?
[00:12:07] Speaker A: I didn't say I wasn't gonna get it. I just said you don't need it.
[00:12:10] Speaker B: No, I need it.
[00:12:11] Speaker A: I'm not lying. I need.
[00:12:12] Speaker B: That becomes. That becomes a necessity at that point.
[00:12:14] Speaker A: It is. And then you can separate it. It could be, too.
[00:12:16] Speaker B: Right. It could probably hold one whole screw.
[00:12:18] Speaker A: Gun inside that low key. It could. It probably could. So speaking of that, you know what I put in those drawers? What's that? All my stuff for my sprinkler system. Every little.
[00:12:28] Speaker B: Oh, yeah. The little sprinkler heads and all that. Yeah. Yeah. Perfect size. Perfect size.
[00:12:32] Speaker A: And for those of you that have those containers that hold all your screws and your nuts and they don't match. Yep. Scrap that. Go get the mini toolbox at work. As a matter of fact, just walk in and say, I need the mini toolbox. And you're probably gonna get it cheaper than we did, because we got it for 8.
[00:12:48] Speaker B: 18.
[00:12:49] Speaker A: Like, 18.
[00:12:49] Speaker B: Yep. 18.
[00:12:50] Speaker A: You got yours for 18? Oh, no.
[00:12:52] Speaker B: 13. Mine was on sale. They had mine on sale.
[00:12:54] Speaker A: On sale.
[00:12:55] Speaker B: You got yours for 18.
[00:12:56] Speaker A: I was sour about it. Yeah, that's right.
[00:12:58] Speaker B: I do remember.
[00:12:59] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:12:59] Speaker B: Cause I told you 13, and then you went there.
[00:13:02] Speaker A: I was like, Bro, it's 18 minutes. Eighteen.
[00:13:05] Speaker B: But even for that price, because, like.
[00:13:06] Speaker A: Oh, it was still cheap.
[00:13:07] Speaker B: It's not plastic. It's, like, full. It's like a regular toolbox that just shrunk down.
[00:13:12] Speaker A: It probably weighs 2, 3 pounds. Yeah, I'd probably give it 5. It's.
[00:13:17] Speaker B: It's a nice. It's a nice little box.
[00:13:19] Speaker A: I got red, they got blue, they got black.
[00:13:21] Speaker B: Mine, Mine. I got all my fishing stuff, my fishing tackle, stuff like that. So I can put my little hooks. Because I'll be making my own hooks and my own stuff for my own.
[00:13:27] Speaker A: That's a good. Any. Any little tool you have in your garage. And you're like, I wish.
[00:13:33] Speaker B: The little screwdrivers for watches. Yep.
[00:13:35] Speaker A: I got the perfect example for you. If you make this motion in your garage, you need this.
[00:13:43] Speaker B: Yep. Or this.
[00:13:44] Speaker A: That's. That's that. If you make that movement as a man or a woman in your garage.
[00:13:49] Speaker B: Yep. You need it.
[00:13:49] Speaker A: That is the. This is the toolbox you need.
[00:13:51] Speaker B: It's.
[00:13:52] Speaker A: It. Literally, it will fit.
It's. I'm not gonna give me another one, actually, that I think about It. I want one inside the house. I want one inside the house for like my batteries and all.
[00:14:03] Speaker B: Oh, I never thought about that. Yeah, because you can have the whole top part. Can be 9 volt, the bottom.
[00:14:08] Speaker A: Oh, double A, Triple A. I might.
[00:14:10] Speaker B: Have to go get it. So listen, Harbor Freight, if y' all make the bottom, I want the bottom too. I need the bottom for the top. In fact, if y' all make a bottom, I'm gonna buy two bottoms because I'm gonna buy one more top.
That's what's gonna happen. That's exactly what's gonna happen.
Oh, ready? If anybody that working for Harbor Freight goes, hey, man, you know we put this out. Yeah, you put this out, you're gonna sell at least two of them, right?
[00:14:32] Speaker A: Here's your question. Are you gonna get a matching. Same color. You're gonna get a different color.
[00:14:36] Speaker B: Oh, no, I'm. It's going. I'm going. I'm going to.
[00:14:38] Speaker A: Because you got a red, right?
[00:14:39] Speaker B: Yep. And I'm gonna go black bottom and then I'm gonna do red and black bottom again.
[00:14:44] Speaker A: Yep. Okay. I didn't even, I didn't even think about double dipping in the. Wow.
[00:14:48] Speaker B: Yeah. Red and black bottom. Well, you should. That's your Falcon color.
[00:14:50] Speaker A: That is my Falcon. I was gonna get two, two total sets and just have them side by side. But to mismatch.
[00:14:55] Speaker B: Yeah, mismatch them. Yeah.
[00:14:57] Speaker A: Oh, Harbor Freight, we asking a bunch of details. Do a white trim. Oh, that'd be clean. Harbor Freight, man, just go.
[00:15:05] Speaker B: I love you guys. I just, I can't say enough. I mean, I know, I know you guys be getting me when I walk.
I don't care. I really don't care that y' all give me. I don't care that I walk up to the, to the aisle, to the, to the stand. I'm walking up to the line and I only got one item in my hand, but by the time I get to the cash register, I'm holding in both arms.
[00:15:23] Speaker A: And you feel proud, too. When you feel like I made it to the hardest part, I, I feel.
[00:15:27] Speaker B: So proud sometimes that when I'm grabbing, I actually point it out to other people. Like I look at people. You ain't getting the batteries.
You need to grab some B. You know that they're going to run out in a minute. Cuz they only $6 for 27 of them. You better grab them.
[00:15:40] Speaker A: He's.
[00:15:41] Speaker B: Oh, yeah, you ain't got it. You. If you standing there with one screwdriver, I'm. I might, I Might mess with you. I might mess with you. You standing there just like. I don't see him. Yes, you do. Yes, you do. You see that tape measure for $4? You see that level? You see that headlamp over there? That's got a keychain. Yes, you do. Stop lying.
Yeah, you got to. You got to. You can't walk past that. That's why Harbor Freight strategically puts it there. And I love y' all for it. I love y' all for it.
[00:16:11] Speaker A: Gonna buy.
[00:16:13] Speaker B: Yeah, you got to push people into it, too, because it's like, man, come on.
[00:16:17] Speaker A: Only thing you got to push them. I think they just need. What's that?
[00:16:20] Speaker B: No, some people not recollection.
[00:16:22] Speaker A: They just need validation, that's all. I think people in Harbor Freight just. They just need that buddy to confirm they ain't the only one.
[00:16:31] Speaker B: Well, I tell you what, Harbor Freight, if you all hired me, my job would just to be to stand in that line.
I stand in that line, my commission would be high as shit.
I didn't do any. I didn't walk anywhere else in the store. I just stood in line. My. My commission would be so high.
[00:16:46] Speaker A: Just get you a photo. Yeah. Oh, yeah. You could be the catalog, the human catalog of the check, the checkout aisle.
[00:16:54] Speaker B: But you know how it start off? I give the first person to step in line, I give them a bucket like that. Bucket look a little light.
[00:17:00] Speaker A: You like that buggy?
[00:17:02] Speaker B: Look like you need to put some shit in that buggy. What are you doing?
What you doing? Oh, you need a tape measure.
[00:17:07] Speaker A: Come on.
[00:17:07] Speaker B: Who don't need. Who don't need a level with laser sight? You know you need that.
[00:17:11] Speaker A: Hey, that's. Oh, they do so much.
