Episode Transcript
[00:00:00] Speaker A: Are there any episodes that you watch that you want to give your take on about your dad or about me or a category we talked about? I feel like he's on the show. We got to give him the rights. If there was anything he talked about that he wants to.
[00:00:16] Speaker B: If not, let's ask him some of the questions that we had when we was doing the podcast.
[00:00:20] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:00:21] Speaker B: Like ask him about the microwave one. This is the real one.
[00:00:23] Speaker A: I want to get out.
[00:00:24] Speaker B: Okay, bruh.
This ended up as a war.
[00:00:30] Speaker A: 20 in the city.
[00:00:32] Speaker B: Aloha.
[00:00:33] Speaker A: Is this our second? Nah. Does family count as a guess?
I think it.
[00:00:39] Speaker C: It does.
[00:00:39] Speaker B: I think so.
[00:00:40] Speaker A: I think so. Either way, we gotta guess.
THC's son. Youngest son.
[00:00:45] Speaker B: Youngest.
[00:00:46] Speaker A: Going back to the east coast. What's up, Josh? How you doing, man?
[00:00:49] Speaker C: Not too bad, not too bad.
[00:00:50] Speaker A: All right, I gotta ask, man.
So you on my side of the world, which by the way, he serves for the great country of America.
Is he on vaca? What is this technical term?
[00:01:01] Speaker B: Call it leave.
[00:01:02] Speaker A: Leave.
[00:01:02] Speaker B: Yeah. And he's gotta go back now. He was with me all the way through from Christmas up till so now.
[00:01:07] Speaker A: He'S gotta go back. Yeah. All right, Josh, I gotta ask. Cause you was on the east coast and your dad was telling me when you was here you was not a fan of seafood.
But now you are since you've been on the east coast now. Cause you got it from the ocean, see.
[00:01:23] Speaker B: Cause we had this thing about the blue crab. Yeah, you was telling me about blue crab from the east coast.
[00:01:27] Speaker A: So you gotta. You gotta enlighten me. How. How did this.
[00:01:30] Speaker C: My. My entire life never like seafood.
[00:01:33] Speaker A: Yep.
[00:01:34] Speaker C: Ever. I remember bringing a lunchable to going to lunch with my mom and dad when we went to a Fiji boat.
[00:01:41] Speaker B: Oh man, that's. Back in the day.
[00:01:43] Speaker A: You took a lunchable restaurant.
[00:01:45] Speaker B: Yeah. Cuz he wasn't gonna eat that. He wasn't gonna eat none of that stuff that was coming out of that spot.
[00:01:49] Speaker C: He had lunchable sat down in the restaurant with my lunchable ham and cheese crackers.
[00:01:54] Speaker A: That's a bold. That's a bold move right there.
[00:01:56] Speaker B: I tell you. I tell you, man. Like, like, he also. Also tell him about the wawa.
[00:02:02] Speaker C: Oh yeah, we just.
[00:02:03] Speaker B: I have no. I don't know of anybody west coast. We don't know nothing about no Wawa.
[00:02:08] Speaker A: Oh yeah. Nah, that's your typical. That's.
[00:02:09] Speaker B: But I know that's. That's you guys.
[00:02:10] Speaker A: Yeah, that's like a 7 11.
[00:02:12] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:02:12] Speaker A: Which one do you like more? Wawa or 7 11?
[00:02:17] Speaker C: I've only been to a couple of 7 11s in North Carolina. The Wawa, though. 2:44 for some gas.
[00:02:22] Speaker A: Yeah, bro. The Wawa hit different. I don't know how they stay in business. Wawa's been around since I was a kid, so that's at least since 2000.at least since 07. Easily since I've been in high. While I was in high school. So that's been around since 07.
[00:02:35] Speaker B: That sounds like.
Is it the spot where the cheapest.
[00:02:38] Speaker A: Gas will always be at Cheapest gas. And then they got the convenience store on the inside. The only thing they don't got, and I'm surprised they ain't never tried to do this, is to mimic 711 with the whole.
[00:02:48] Speaker B: Whole you know what?
[00:02:49] Speaker A: 711 cent slurpee day on 7 11.
[00:02:52] Speaker B: See, now, I was asking him if there was anything that was food, not like in a bag or anything, but like actual food, like a hot dog or a hot sandwich or something that's like a wrap or something. Like I said, is there any of that that you eat from Wawa? And he was like, nope, nope.
[00:03:08] Speaker A: You get. Nope. You don't.
They cheap on gas for a reason, bro.
[00:03:12] Speaker B: Okay, I got you. I got you.
[00:03:14] Speaker A: I got you. I got you. You don't trust it unless it says.
[00:03:18] Speaker B: On the west coast, that's the Arco.
And everybody on the west coast know what I'm talking about when I say the Arco station. They're the cheapest guys. Like, if you're driving around, everybody's like, oh, if you want. You want cheap, go to arco. That's like somebody saying, go to Wawa.
[00:03:30] Speaker A: Yeah, you go to Wawa if you want to get something to drink. Some. A quick snack. But it's got to be a brand snack. You don't trust. You don't trust it if it's got the little Wawa logo. Because it looks like the.
Looks like the Wonder Woman logo is what Wawa logo looks like. Okay, you see that logo? You don't trust it. It's got to be an actual staple brand. Other than that, it's good, though. Yeah. Gas is cheap. You can rely on.
[00:03:51] Speaker B: So what. What seafood is.
[00:03:54] Speaker C: So I've been more adventurous out there because honestly, there's Everything around there is seafood.
[00:04:01] Speaker A: It is true. You are stuck. There's only so many times you can pull up with a lunchable.
[00:04:05] Speaker C: I'm on. I'm right.
[00:04:07] Speaker B: What kind of fish?
[00:04:08] Speaker C: I'm right against the water. You got.
[00:04:10] Speaker B: What kind of fish do you like?
[00:04:14] Speaker C: There's Not a lot because I've only.
[00:04:15] Speaker B: Tried it, but just give me one.
[00:04:17] Speaker C: I've tried salmon.
[00:04:18] Speaker B: I've tried salmon yolk.
[00:04:20] Speaker C: Yeah, yeah.
[00:04:21] Speaker B: What about flounder or halibut?
[00:04:23] Speaker C: I haven't had it.
[00:04:24] Speaker A: He's not. You're not going to get a lot of. You'll get halibut.
[00:04:27] Speaker C: I got to start slow.
[00:04:29] Speaker A: But you are enjoying it, though, so far, you're.
[00:04:31] Speaker B: What about cracker?
[00:04:33] Speaker A: I wouldn't say you love it. Got crab, but you're. You're starting to appreciate. Accept it.
[00:04:38] Speaker C: Blue crab, I've always wanted. So, like, when I was younger or when I was growing up, I wanted to eat fish. It's just my body just was like, no, you're not gonna keep it down.
[00:04:49] Speaker A: But now.
[00:04:50] Speaker C: But now.
[00:04:50] Speaker B: What about shrimp?
[00:04:52] Speaker C: Shrimp, crab, the normal things that like seafood. Like, you can't even eat shrimp. Like, every time I say I don't eat seafood, like, not even shrimp, now I can say, oh, I'll eat it. Now.
[00:05:07] Speaker B: What about crab?
[00:05:08] Speaker A: Like crab?
[00:05:08] Speaker B: I've been excited to ask you these questions because you ain't never ate, like I've. In his whole life have I ate with my son. Some crab legs, some crab claws, something like that. Something that I. That. That to me, that's candy. If I got a bowl of butter, there is not an amount of crab legs.
[00:05:23] Speaker A: Oh, yeah, you gotta go crab legs.
[00:05:25] Speaker B: I would sit there all day. You could keep bringing me buckets and buckets. I'd keep going. Especially snow crab.
[00:05:29] Speaker A: Now I will say Dungeness, because Josh has been on the east coast and he is now understanding that seafood is good.
I will tell you, Josh, once you leave the east coast or you go any other place on the east coast.
[00:05:43] Speaker B: This co. Tastes like garbage.
[00:05:45] Speaker A: Just be careful where you go, because I did the same thing. I left the east coast and went to the Midwest and was like, oh, a seafood spot. And my stomach did not like it. It's not because you don't like seafood anymore. It's the quality of it.
[00:05:57] Speaker B: It's the quality of where it comes from.
[00:05:58] Speaker A: Be careful now when you go exploring, if it's got three stars or less, don't go eat it. It needs to be five stars at least if it's anywhere.
[00:06:05] Speaker B: Especially sushi.
[00:06:07] Speaker A: Yeah, especially. Don't go cheap.
[00:06:09] Speaker B: Don't go.
[00:06:09] Speaker A: You can go cheap now because you on the east coast, so everything's going to be pretty good. But yeah, where you're at in North Carolina, you shouldn't run into nothing bad. But that don't give you the green light now to start just exploring anywhere else. Anybody that likes seafood, they know, you know, just don't go exploring anybody else's.
[00:06:24] Speaker B: That's like. That's like as far north as I've lived up in the States, I've. I. I found that the far south I go, the closer I get to the border, the Mexican food gets fantastically dramatic. Oh, my goodness.
[00:06:37] Speaker A: What? Josh is one. Outside of seafood, have you had any good Mexican in North Carolina, or have you just been on a freaking seafood kick?
[00:06:47] Speaker B: What else is big out there besides seafood?
[00:06:50] Speaker A: That's really about it.
Unless Josh knows chili.
[00:06:55] Speaker C: No, no, I just. I just went to Chili's.
[00:06:59] Speaker B: No, no, not. Not Chili's, but like, chili.
[00:07:02] Speaker A: Like, Josh was like.
[00:07:04] Speaker B: He was like, nah, don't.
It's right next to the Wawa. You don't want to go there.
[00:07:08] Speaker A: You don't do that.
[00:07:09] Speaker B: You don't do that one.
That one's got cheap gas, too.
[00:07:12] Speaker C: There's a lot of good steak places out there.
[00:07:14] Speaker A: Oh, I bet there might be. What about barbecue spots?
[00:07:17] Speaker B: Yeah, that's. That's what I'm saying. Like barbecue.
[00:07:19] Speaker A: Like barbecue spots in North Carolina.
[00:07:21] Speaker C: A lot of good barbecue spots. There's seafood. There's a couple, like, Hispanic. Not too bad.
[00:07:30] Speaker A: Oh, here's a seafood for you. Or it's is considered a seafood assortment. Have you had a hush puppy?
[00:07:36] Speaker C: No.
[00:07:37] Speaker A: Oh, when you go back, you got to try a hush puppy.
[00:07:39] Speaker B: It's just like a cornbread ball that used to come on. When I used to go to Long John Silver's, I used to have these little cornball things that.
[00:07:46] Speaker A: Those are hush puppies you got to get you.
It's a night. It's a nice bread. I love assist to your fish or your shrimp. Anybody that knows about hush puppies?
[00:07:56] Speaker B: Sometimes it's funny, like when they tell me what they don't. They don't like. I'm like, you're not my kid.
How you my kid and you don't eat sushi?
[00:08:05] Speaker A: Yeah, he's learning now, though.
[00:08:07] Speaker B: You know what?
[00:08:07] Speaker A: I was least able to eat seafood, bruh.
[00:08:09] Speaker B: When I was. When I was young, I didn't eat sushi. You try to bring me sushi. I was like, no. I watched the Breakfast Club. They said it's raw fish.
[00:08:16] Speaker A: So he is your kid. How you mad at him? Because he don't like seafood at this age. And you didn't either?
[00:08:20] Speaker B: Well, no, at his age, I did. When I was younger, I didn't. You couldn't feed no meat and broth.
[00:08:25] Speaker A: But at his age, you. You were also in the military. Yeah.
[00:08:28] Speaker B: So, yeah, that's when I was like, let's go eat everything.
[00:08:31] Speaker A: He's exploring too, so. Yeah, he's on the right path. He's still your kid.
[00:08:34] Speaker B: How many. How many different. No. You still in the States? You haven't even left the States?
[00:08:38] Speaker A: No.
So are you planning on coming back to Idaho once you're done?
[00:08:44] Speaker B: No.
[00:08:48] Speaker A: I had to ask.
[00:08:49] Speaker B: That's all right. Because, like, right now, Johnny gonna put this little thing. It's gonna. It's gonna turn into a meme where it just showed. My face faded and I'm just sad.
[00:08:56] Speaker A: Are you gonna stay East Coast?
[00:08:58] Speaker C: I.
I do like the East Coast a lot. I mean, I don't think I'll probably be like, far, far east coast, but I'm definitely.
[00:09:06] Speaker A: You're gonna keep yourself within driving. Maybe one quick, like, flight range on one quick flight.
[00:09:14] Speaker C: Because I was thinking, like, I do want to go see New York.
[00:09:17] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:09:18] Speaker C: Up north.
[00:09:19] Speaker B: Ain't none to see up north.
[00:09:20] Speaker A: East. Man, don't be that parent mid.
[00:09:23] Speaker B: No, no, no, no. I'm not that being that parent. I'm speaking on my own. I didn't see that much up there. I.
I've been to New York, but.
[00:09:29] Speaker A: Let him go see it. I will say if you.
[00:09:31] Speaker B: He on the east coast, he can go wherever he want.
[00:09:33] Speaker A: Just live outside of New York. It's way nicer, way cheaper.
[00:09:37] Speaker C: Definitely don't want to live there.
[00:09:37] Speaker B: You just ripped my heart out right now. You ain't coming back to Idaho, though, right? Like, ah, that's. As a dad, you know what I'm saying? Like, it just. I'm just, you know.
[00:09:45] Speaker A: You should be proud, bro.
[00:09:46] Speaker B: I told my kids, honestly, I don't care where they live. That's just more places for me to go visit.
[00:09:50] Speaker A: Exactly. He's giving you a reason aside from cause we going to be. We going.
[00:09:55] Speaker B: Nah, you know what it is?
[00:09:55] Speaker A: You going to North Dakota in March, then you have a reason. Wherever he wants to reside, he'll now be there. You can go visit him.
[00:10:01] Speaker B: I know. Cause my daughter. My daughter and her husband, they were talking about going up to Montana.
[00:10:05] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:10:06] Speaker B: Going up to. That's when I was like, well, I guess I ain't gonna be looking for a boat. I'm gonna look for a trailer.
[00:10:10] Speaker A: If Josh stays on the east coast, would he be the furthest relative of your, like, of your family to be?
[00:10:20] Speaker B: Cause I feel like, oh, no. I feel like relatives in Hawaii. I got relatives in. Right.
[00:10:25] Speaker A: But that's all Considered, I got.
[00:10:27] Speaker B: I got relatives in Virginia. That's from. That's where my. My sister she graduated with was from Orange.
[00:10:32] Speaker A: Oh, that's right.
[00:10:33] Speaker B: They live in Orange. Yeah, they live in Orange. I got. I got family. Coast.
[00:10:36] Speaker A: Coast. Nevermind. But he would be the furthest kid.
[00:10:38] Speaker B: Yes.
[00:10:40] Speaker A: Would it be the furthest relative right now?
[00:10:41] Speaker B: The furthest kid was. It used to be. It used to be Isaiah or it used to be Kylie when Kylie was stationed in the Middle East.
[00:10:47] Speaker A: That's true.
[00:10:48] Speaker B: Then it was. Then it was Isaiah when he was down in New Mexico. First it started off with Devin going to Twin Falls.
That was the first. It was like, man, you far? And then like, well, I'm in New Mexico.
[00:10:57] Speaker A: That's far.
[00:10:58] Speaker B: I'm in the Middle East. I was hella far. Yeah.
[00:11:00] Speaker A: Okay. So, Josh, where, off the top of your head right now, where are you thinking you would want to live? Because. Because you've been in North Carolina. I'm sure you done traveled around and probably hit South Carolina. Virginia. I'm thinking West Virginia.
[00:11:16] Speaker B: If I was a betting man, I would say Midwest.
[00:11:20] Speaker A: What are you thinking?
[00:11:21] Speaker B: I'm thinking, like, Philly, because, like, Philly is like. Is like. I think Philadelphia is close to Ness in Pennsylvania. He. And. And it's. It's closer to a lot of. It's not far from New York. It's not far from the thing. It's not.
[00:11:34] Speaker C: You.
[00:11:35] Speaker B: You pretty much have that whole little area right there kind of locked in by Pennsylvania. That's where I'm thinking he might go towards right now.
[00:11:44] Speaker C: The plan, or not even a plan, just a consideration is it's the plan.
[00:11:48] Speaker B: He just ain't told his dad yet.
[00:11:50] Speaker C: West Virginia, Virginia, range.
[00:11:52] Speaker B: Yeah, see, he ain't. He ain't told his dad yet. That's why he said it ain't the plan. He's already talked it out with somebody else. Yeah, he just. He just ain't talked. I get that. I totally get that. I totally get that. But I'm just saying, like, he already talked. He already know what he's doing right now. The plan is.
[00:12:05] Speaker A: But those are two good spots. Because I'm also. I'm assuming he's thinking somewhere that's got a international airport.
[00:12:11] Speaker B: And most of the stuff out that way. Most of the stuff out that way is, like. Is, like, built for fishing. So, like, if he does stay on the coastline, that's dope to me.
[00:12:18] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:12:19] Speaker B: Because then that's me. I can go up and down that coastline fishing, and that's what I want to do. There's. There's some stuff in the Atlantic I, I. That I. I've read about. I've seen about. I've seen things like that. And he's already out. If he's already out, that way, that's even easier.
[00:12:31] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:12:31] Speaker B: I'm just. I just want to crash on your couch.
[00:12:34] Speaker A: Do you. I know you got a. What kind of vehicle do you have right now? I know you had to get.
[00:12:38] Speaker B: Oh, my God. I don't know how many times I had heard this since he's been home.
[00:12:41] Speaker C: I have a 2019 Toyota Tacoma.
[00:12:43] Speaker B: Oh, this dude fancy.
[00:12:46] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:12:47] Speaker B: He fancy.
[00:12:49] Speaker A: Yeah. Yeah, it's nice. You need to be. You need to be in that Virginia, West Virginia area, because I'm assuming you still want to do some outdoor stuff.
[00:12:56] Speaker C: Of course.
[00:12:56] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
[00:12:57] Speaker C: I drove. I drove up to Maryland during Thanksgiving to visit my girl's family and all that, and that place. Real nice.
[00:13:07] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:13:08] Speaker C: We cut through. I think we cut to West Virginia.
[00:13:10] Speaker A: Yeah. Probably because you're on the.
[00:13:12] Speaker B: You might be.
[00:13:13] Speaker A: Where are you at? And try to stay close to the mic. Where are you at in North Carolina?
[00:13:17] Speaker C: Jacksonville.
[00:13:17] Speaker A: So. Yeah, yeah, yeah. You would have cut through. Yeah, for a little bit, but. Yeah, just. Just enough.
[00:13:21] Speaker C: Yes.
[00:13:23] Speaker A: That's why you said West Virginia, because he drove through it. It's. It's very nice.
[00:13:27] Speaker C: It is nice.
[00:13:27] Speaker B: I've.
[00:13:28] Speaker A: I've.
[00:13:28] Speaker B: I've been on. I've been on the east coast out that way. I've been to D.C. i've been to Virginia. I've been to those spots. I. I loved it out there.
[00:13:34] Speaker A: If he goes, that's the first time.
[00:13:35] Speaker B: That's the first time I've ever seen a firefly was when I went to the East Coast. I'm being real. I. There ain't no fireflies on the West Coast.
[00:13:42] Speaker A: Really?
[00:13:42] Speaker B: Like, I mean, there probably are, but I never seen one.
[00:13:45] Speaker A: Oh, that's. Yeah, that's the.
[00:13:46] Speaker B: No, out there on the east coast. It's like them shit is like, every fly is a firefly on the East Coast. Yeah.
[00:13:52] Speaker A: If you grew up on the east coast and said you never saw a firefly, you wasn't on the East.
[00:13:55] Speaker B: You weren't on the East. Yeah, exactly.
[00:13:58] Speaker A: Okay. What is your.
So we did there. We talked about the car.
Have we added anything to the car? Did we just leave it as it is?
[00:14:06] Speaker C: Not yet.
[00:14:08] Speaker B: He wants to lift it.
[00:14:09] Speaker C: I do want to lift it. Add some bigger tires, and then my.
[00:14:13] Speaker B: Sounds like a Marine, don't he?
[00:14:15] Speaker C: One of my gunnies actually gave me an offer for some speakers.
[00:14:19] Speaker A: Oh.
[00:14:20] Speaker C: Or some amps that go in my truck as well, so.
[00:14:23] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:14:23] Speaker C: And then my back windows are tinted. Don't know if I want to get the front ones tinted, though.
[00:14:26] Speaker B: See, what I feel like is, he's gonna gain all this stuff when he's done, and when he's gonna come home, he's gonna be like, dad, can you put all this in my car so mine can bump?
[00:14:36] Speaker A: Well, yeah.
[00:14:37] Speaker B: And, yeah, of course I am. You know that. Because I want it.
[00:14:40] Speaker A: You never know.
He might just have you hook it up when you come out there, he'd just be like, look, just tell me what you need. I'll go buy everything. And then when you come out here, because you have to go out there when he finally gets.
[00:14:50] Speaker B: When he's done, to help him drive back so he can drive back. I think even if we do that, I think all he's going to do is he's coming out here to just grab all this shit so he can bounce.
[00:14:58] Speaker A: Yeah. Yeah.
[00:14:59] Speaker C: Oh, that's the plan. Easy driving to Idaho, grabbing all my stuff, coming straight back.
[00:15:04] Speaker A: Hey, that's good, though. I'm happy, though. I'm glad he's gonna. On the East. The east coast is very nice. There's a lot to see, a lot of history. Yeah. Being a history person. Original 13 colonies that.
[00:15:15] Speaker B: Oh, dude, when I was in. When I was in Philadelphia, I was in Scranton and all that down in there. Oh, man, I loved it. I didn't want to leave that town. Yeah. Like, Philly, all that stuff. Like, even. Like, the. Even down to the prisons. Like, they have the old ancient prison ones that held Al Capone before they transferred him to Alcatraz. He stayed out.
Yeah. There's a lot of history out that way.
[00:15:32] Speaker A: Have you gone south?
[00:15:34] Speaker B: Like, Florida?
[00:15:35] Speaker A: Like, Florida, Louisiana area?
[00:15:38] Speaker C: I was supposed to go Disney World.
[00:15:40] Speaker A: Don't go to Disney World. It's overhyped.
[00:15:43] Speaker B: I'm just saying, like, that's what everybody ever talks about.
[00:15:45] Speaker A: Honestly, if you gonna go to anywhere, go back to Virginia, go to Williamsburg, go to Busch Gardens.
[00:15:50] Speaker B: Isn't there a Busch Gardens in Tampa? In.
[00:15:53] Speaker A: Yeah, but that ain't. That one don't hit.
[00:15:54] Speaker B: Like, I heard the one on the one in Virginia hits the most.
[00:15:57] Speaker A: You got to go to the one in Virginia and Busch Gardens.
[00:15:59] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:15:59] Speaker A: You got to go to Bush Gardens. And on your way there, depending on what time of the year you go, you also will go through Water Country USA, so you can hit 2 for the price of 1.
[00:16:08] Speaker B: Water Country. Is that, like, in a big Mall or something.
[00:16:10] Speaker A: Oh, it's outside.
[00:16:11] Speaker B: It's huge, though. It's like big water.
[00:16:13] Speaker A: Water park. Yeah. Yeah.
[00:16:14] Speaker C: Yep.
[00:16:15] Speaker A: But yeah, you got to go to Busch Gardens in Virginia.
[00:16:17] Speaker B: Don't hurry up. Buy a house out there. I want to. I want to go out there.
[00:16:19] Speaker A: Yeah. See, look at stuck. I'm sad. I'm sad.
[00:16:22] Speaker B: I'm only sad cuz this is my baby boy. Like, that's my. This my baby boy. And that's fine. That's fine. But I'm like, yeah, I do. I'm gonna get a little sad. Cause this is my. This is my last one.
[00:16:31] Speaker A: Okay. So, Josh, have you. Cause I know your dad told you about the podcast. Have you watched any episodes?
[00:16:37] Speaker C: I have.
[00:16:38] Speaker A: Are there any episodes.
[00:16:40] Speaker C: Been a while, though.
[00:16:41] Speaker A: Are there any episodes that you watch that you want to give your take on about your dad or about me or a category we talked about?
I feel like he's on the show. We got to give him the rights if there was anything he talked about that he wants to.
[00:16:58] Speaker B: If not, let's ask him some of the questions that we had when we was doing the podcast.
[00:17:02] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:17:02] Speaker B: Like ask him about the microwave one. This is the real one.
[00:17:05] Speaker A: I want to get out. Okay, bro.
[00:17:08] Speaker B: We. This. This ended up as a war at work.
[00:17:10] Speaker A: We. We are not restarting this because.
[00:17:14] Speaker B: We just want your opinion.
[00:17:15] Speaker A: An hour long. So we gonna get. Okay.
I said there are certain foods that are better as a leftover than it is when you first eat it.
[00:17:27] Speaker B: We. Okay, we ranked the food the very top.
[00:17:30] Speaker A: Fire.
Yeah.
[00:17:32] Speaker B: Can't get above fire now.
We got upset when we first got upset was we started going back and forth because they were microwaving things and then eating them and then going, yeah, this is fire. And I'm like, nah, it was fire when it was cooked. It's bomb at best right now. So it's maybe an eight or a night, but it's not a ten.
[00:17:52] Speaker A: So.
[00:17:52] Speaker B: Because you had to reheat it.
[00:17:53] Speaker A: Do you believe or agree there are certain foods that are better left over than they are when you first have them?
[00:18:01] Speaker B: Yeah, that still sounds too. That sounds two different ways.
[00:18:04] Speaker A: No, no, no, that's.
[00:18:05] Speaker B: So you're saying that somebody's food who they cook to, you would rather be like, hey, I'm glad you made that.
[00:18:11] Speaker C: They don't even have to cook it for me. I have found food in the fridge. I was left over and be like, that's good right now. I don't even have to heat it up.
[00:18:18] Speaker B: Okay. But what I'm saying was when it's. When it's freshly made, is that better than it is? When you wait and then warm it up later on? Like, let's take lasagna. Lasagna is where we drew.
[00:18:29] Speaker A: We started drawing. Lasagna is better leftover.
[00:18:31] Speaker B: And I'm like, lasagna is not bomb. Leftover.
[00:18:35] Speaker C: Fresh lasagna is better than. But.
[00:18:38] Speaker A: But he's saying there are certain.
[00:18:39] Speaker C: There are certain.
[00:18:40] Speaker B: No, no, no, no. I'm getting mad because y' all was making. Y' all was making. Anything in the microwave was gonna be a 10.
[00:18:46] Speaker A: You wasn't listening.
[00:18:47] Speaker B: A 10 isn't fire.
[00:18:48] Speaker A: Josh knows you don't listen sometimes. Okay.
[00:18:50] Speaker C: Oh, I know.
[00:18:51] Speaker B: Because when you say you like it, it's a leftover. You're telling whoever made that that their food wasn't good to be in the first time. It's better leftover. That's what you're saying. So you can look a chef in the face and be like, yeah, I'm glad you made that. Can you put it in the bag and put it in my fridge so I can eat it tomorrow?
[00:19:06] Speaker A: If you want to know about this conversation, find the episode that has something about microwaves. I'm not. I'm not re. Debating it, because I want to get to some other questions about with Josh. The one I got from one of our episodes was, what's the one? Oh, speaking of foods, if there was one food you had to eat for the rest of your life, a type of food, what would it be? A type of food type. So, like, Italian, French, Chinese, and whatever.
[00:19:38] Speaker B: You pick, you got to leave the rest of them alone. You can't touch none of the rest of them. So you eat any of the other recipes?
[00:19:44] Speaker A: Your dad had me, because I said I was giving up.
What did I say? Oh, I said I was going to give up Italian. And so he was like, that's pizza.
[00:19:53] Speaker B: That's bread, lasagna, pasta, macaroni and cheese.
[00:19:57] Speaker A: Because it's macaroni.
[00:19:58] Speaker B: Anything possible.
[00:19:59] Speaker A: One category. You was gonna. You could eat that every day for the rest of your life and be happy, and you would get rid of all the others.
That's a tough one.
[00:20:08] Speaker C: I'm gonna go with Mexican.
[00:20:09] Speaker A: That's what I said.
[00:20:10] Speaker B: That's what you said.
[00:20:10] Speaker A: That's what I said.
[00:20:11] Speaker B: In fact, he made his. He. He. He checked his grandma.
[00:20:14] Speaker A: Yeah, my grandma called me.
[00:20:15] Speaker B: Grandma was like, what?
Fine. Hope you.
[00:20:19] Speaker A: I said, because I don't live at home anymore, so I don't get. My grandma's Southern.
[00:20:24] Speaker B: Grandma was mad. Grandma Grandma was like, you better let it be the loca.
[00:20:28] Speaker A: Yeah, she.
[00:20:29] Speaker B: I know.
[00:20:30] Speaker A: I go. I go home in about a month. I hope she. I hope she'll cook for me. She probably won't.
[00:20:34] Speaker B: She go have she go had Del Taco or Taco Bell waiting for you when you show up.
[00:20:38] Speaker A: Be Patty.
Okay, other topic. We just did this one while you was here last week, but you weren't in the studio growing up. Josh, does your dad give you an allowance?
[00:20:51] Speaker B: Nope. I'll answer that.
[00:20:53] Speaker A: I like. I like how he just laughed.
[00:20:55] Speaker B: I'll answer that right now. Nope.
[00:20:57] Speaker C: If anything.
Yeah, no, didn't get allowance.
Actually, what all my siblings would do is we would. If anything, I was paying for someone else to do my chores.
[00:21:11] Speaker A: But you see what.
[00:21:12] Speaker B: You remember what we was talking about with that $52?
[00:21:15] Speaker A: Yeah, but it was from your own money.
[00:21:19] Speaker C: It was. Even I didn't have money.
It was. I do something else for them.
[00:21:23] Speaker B: If I.
[00:21:24] Speaker C: If he was.
[00:21:25] Speaker B: If I. Yeah, he was handing out if I.
[00:21:27] Speaker A: Loans got you.
[00:21:28] Speaker B: If I. If, if I. If I got it. If I needed.
[00:21:31] Speaker C: If I needed doing the dishes, I'll do this for you.
[00:21:35] Speaker A: Gotcha.
[00:21:36] Speaker B: Bartering.
[00:21:37] Speaker A: Bartering. Yeah. He was bartering.
[00:21:39] Speaker B: Yeah. That's like how pawns, how pawn stores do.
[00:21:43] Speaker A: But I'm assuming because of that. Okay. It's kind of different for you because you're in the military, so you have to keep things straight and tidy. But if you wouldn't have gone into the military with your dad not giving you an allowance and having you do these chores organically, do you feel like that would have helped you to have probably a place of your own that's going to be tidy, neat and clean? Probably.
[00:22:09] Speaker C: I think if I would have got paid to do certain things, I think I've.
The way he would have paid me would have been. Definitely would have been $50. It would have been like a five.
[00:22:25] Speaker B: Yes.
[00:22:26] Speaker A: Yeah. Yes.
[00:22:26] Speaker C: It would have been a maybe.
[00:22:28] Speaker B: Because if you don't.
[00:22:29] Speaker C: A 10 on a good day.
[00:22:32] Speaker B: If you don't know your worth, neither.
[00:22:33] Speaker A: Do I. Yeah, that's true.
[00:22:35] Speaker B: 100. If you don't know what you worth, I don't either.
[00:22:38] Speaker A: That's true.
[00:22:40] Speaker B: And now, now my kids got. Nah, nah, nah. We gotta have this. We gotta have this. It's gotta be here.
[00:22:45] Speaker A: I mean, I will say for Josh, he was out here bartering, just promises. So, yeah, he. Five, ten dollars would have been. He would have been like, yeah, I'll just have my sister.
[00:22:54] Speaker B: Correct.
[00:22:55] Speaker A: That's fair. That's fair. We talked about that episode.
Anybody still sour about it? Send us your unsubscribed resignation email or comment, and Peabody will evaluate it. We still. If you're going to subscribe, at least let's have a final.
[00:23:11] Speaker B: Yes. Let's have an exit interview, please.
[00:23:14] Speaker A: All right, P. Those are the main ones I had. You got anything you want to say? Say goodbye to your son before he bounces, because I'm assuming he's probably leaving right after this episode.
[00:23:23] Speaker B: Yeah, that's why we so close. Yeah, that's why we're so close.
[00:23:26] Speaker A: Because we right by the end. That's why you did it. That's smart.
[00:23:29] Speaker B: I did. I was like, man, I'm going to.
[00:23:31] Speaker A: For those that don't know. Yeah. The podcast studio we do this in is literally across the.
[00:23:34] Speaker B: And I'm proud.
I'm proud of how my kids turned and how my kids came in there. When you say, like, if you didn't have the military structure, like, would he still do all that now? I would. I would answer yes, because my oldest didn't go, so. My oldest didn't get into the. Into the military when he went. But he still runs his own businesses out.
[00:23:52] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:23:52] Speaker B: So he still does that. So it's. It's pretty much on the parents. What you instill in your kids is what you gonna get back from your kids. Like, you can't put out mediocre and. And expect superior. You know what I mean? You can't put out. Whatever you put out is what you're gonna put in. So when you. When you get hard on your kids and you tell your kids, hey, this is what it's supposed to be like. This is how it's supposed to be. And they come back to you and they say, dad, but that hurts. Guess what? It's going to hurt the whole way through. Yeah. And you gonna have to get through that.
[00:24:19] Speaker A: Yeah. Nah, Josh, I'm proud of you, too, man. I 100%. Yeah. Be safe, finish out strong, and then I ain't get to talk to you.
But I gotta tell you, Rip, man. To the Envoy.
[00:24:32] Speaker B: Oh, yeah.
[00:24:33] Speaker A: Rip.
[00:24:35] Speaker B: Your gmc. It was his, remember? Yeah.
[00:24:38] Speaker A: Rip.
[00:24:38] Speaker B: Yeah.
Josh's first car. First car.
[00:24:42] Speaker A: So his first car. He bought it from me. It was my 2005 GMC envoy. Anybody that's got an Envoy? I love that thing.
[00:24:49] Speaker B: I forgot you guys haven't talked since. It's been a minute.
[00:24:52] Speaker C: I love that thing.
[00:24:53] Speaker A: Yeah, he loved it. And then he.
He leaves to go to boot camp. To go to boot camp.
[00:24:59] Speaker B: Yep.
[00:25:00] Speaker A: His sister Kylie.
[00:25:02] Speaker C: Yep.
[00:25:02] Speaker B: No no, go ahead, bust her out.
[00:25:04] Speaker A: Sister borrowed it first. First time borrowing it and just totals the thing. Just destroyed the whole. Underneath everything, front end, all that.
[00:25:15] Speaker B: Like, I didn't know how bad the damage was until I took off the front end.
[00:25:18] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:25:19] Speaker C: Once.
[00:25:19] Speaker A: Yeah. She basically hit a rock and just scraped. Destroyed the whole frame, bottom and done.
[00:25:25] Speaker B: Done.
[00:25:25] Speaker A: And I don't even think had. You even had the Envoy for a year, maybe. Yeah, yeah, yeah. He had it for at least. Okay. He had it, like, a year, to be fair.
[00:25:33] Speaker C: I had it for a year, but I wasn't driving it for a year because I hadn't got my license yet, so.
[00:25:37] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
[00:25:38] Speaker A: And that's what it was.
[00:25:39] Speaker C: So.
[00:25:39] Speaker A: Yeah. So you didn't even really drive it that much. Correct, correct. And that's what made it sad. Yeah.
[00:25:44] Speaker B: What made it worse was, like, me and his sister sat there and I was like, you going to tell him? Because he's in boot camp right now.
[00:25:52] Speaker A: He's in boot camp.
[00:25:52] Speaker B: And I know because, like, he was telling me. He was like. He was like.
[00:25:57] Speaker C: My entire go through was. I remember laying in my rack next to my platoon member. I was like, man, I can't go away. Like, go home. Drive my truck and.
[00:26:05] Speaker B: Drive my truck.
He wrote it in a note. Like, when he wrote a letter home, like. And I was reading, he was like, yeah, I missed my. I missed my Envoy. I missed the thing. And I'm sitting there in my mind going. I'm looking at Kai. Kai. Like, dude, you gotta tell him.
[00:26:19] Speaker A: Yeah, somebody gotta tell.
[00:26:20] Speaker B: Somebody gotta tell him. I made her tell him at graduation.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
[00:26:24] Speaker A: She had to.
[00:26:25] Speaker C: Because I remember I told you on Family Day, I told.
[00:26:27] Speaker A: I told your dad. I said, if none of y' all tell him, and I see him, I'm snitching. I said, oh, I. I can't do that to him, bro.
[00:26:36] Speaker B: I didn't leave the Marine Corps Depot without briefing my Marines. You know what I mean? Cause, like, once the Marine, always a Marine, and now he's not just my son, he's my brother. But when he got. I was like, nah, there is no way I'm letting my brother leave this planet right here off of this base until he know he ain't got nothing to come home to.
[00:26:53] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:26:53] Speaker B: I felt so bad.
[00:26:55] Speaker A: Yeah. So bad. But, yeah, that I had to tell you, Rip, man, she. She was good. I know you knew she was. But. Yeah, that. When I. When your dad told me that, I literally looked at him and I said. I said, what you gonna do? He was like, it ain't what I'm gonna do. That's what Josh gotta talk to him.
[00:27:11] Speaker B: And I knew and I couldn't. And she's like, I can't tell him until he's done.
Because you can't like break somebody's spirit.
[00:27:17] Speaker A: You can't tell.
[00:27:19] Speaker B: I didn't want you to be like in the middle of a pull up and then like your general instructor read the letter. Oh, yeah, by the way, your GMC's total. You just like, what you come down off the pull up bar. I don't even want to pull up no more.
[00:27:32] Speaker A: Yeah.
You can't tell him why he in the middle of the boot camp.
[00:27:36] Speaker B: Nah.
[00:27:36] Speaker A: But at the end, he had to. But yeah, man, I'm so sorry that car had to go. I didn't even get to see it when it was. But yeah. Cause I even asked P. I was like.
I was like, can I at least see? He's like, there ain't nothing to see, man.
[00:27:48] Speaker B: It was so bad.
My heart fell out looking because I like car, you know, me and trucks and cars, man. Like, to me, those are like people. Like, it is. It's like when I walk through a junkyard. To me that's a. That's a cemetery.
[00:28:02] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:28:02] Speaker B: Like, well.
[00:28:03] Speaker A: And that car was. It was sentimental because I had it since 05.
[00:28:06] Speaker B: I've heard your stories. I've heard his stories. Even like Kai. Kai, when she did drive it but. And brought it back in one piece. Like when she had. She had good stories.
Like, she had stuff that she was like.
[00:28:16] Speaker C: It was good.
[00:28:16] Speaker A: It was a good truck.
[00:28:17] Speaker B: It was a good ass little truck.
[00:28:18] Speaker A: It was like, man, I had also put in a system also. And that's why Josh wanted it because I had. I took. I got rid of the sub, but I kept all the wiring.
[00:28:27] Speaker B: Tell you what.
[00:28:28] Speaker A: And so Josh was. When he was gonna get outta boot camp, he was gonna get a sub and put it in there. Yeah.
[00:28:34] Speaker B: You know what's funny?
Stereo's still in my garage. Hey, I got it out. I never.
[00:28:39] Speaker A: I didn't leave it. That stereo was good. That stereo was still good. I still got it.
[00:28:42] Speaker B: Oh, yeah.
[00:28:43] Speaker A: I don't think I had. No. I got rid of the amp, but yeah, the stereo was still good.
[00:28:46] Speaker B: Yeah, the amp was out. The stereo was good. We pulled it. We pulled the stereo.
[00:28:50] Speaker A: But yeah, man, Congratulations. Thank you. Get back to the East Coast. Let us know if you find any more food that you want to. Or let your pops know, then he'll let me know.
[00:28:58] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:28:59] Speaker A: Or you Know what the free time you do get, he liked. He subscribed. Y' all can do that, too. You can comment.
Yeah. Because I would like to see the comments. Because I'd be like, oh, yeah, that's Josh over there.
[00:29:09] Speaker B: Yes.
[00:29:09] Speaker A: And I can also interact. Be like, what's up? Like, did you try this yet? Did you go get a Hush Puppy yet?
[00:29:13] Speaker B: So, yep. And that's what you got to get.
[00:29:15] Speaker A: So, yeah, I'm Twitty, that's thc. That's Lil. Thc, AKA Josh. I'm gonna let them two go. I know Peabody's gonna be a little sad, but it's all right, man. He gonna go back. He gonna go scope out of place. You're gonna be able to go over there with your boat. I don't know. You might buy another boat somewhere.
[00:29:31] Speaker B: I'm gonna buy another boat. I ain't taking that little flat bottom out in the Atlantic.
No. Ain't happening.
[00:29:38] Speaker C: There's some nice little rivers and ponds.
[00:29:40] Speaker A: Yeah, there's some nice.
You need to take your boat out there first, and then.
[00:29:44] Speaker B: That's a long way to tow that son.
[00:29:45] Speaker A: Bitch. That's a long way. That's why he's bringing the tacoma. It's a 2019.
[00:29:51] Speaker B: I don't know if I can trust the Tacoma.
[00:29:53] Speaker A: Oh, my God. You gonna be in there.
[00:29:55] Speaker B: Gmc, man.
[00:29:56] Speaker A: You see this hat?
You see what I gotta put up with while you gone, bro?
[00:30:00] Speaker C: Entire GMC family over here.
[00:30:02] Speaker A: Yeah, entire GMC family. But, hey, appreciate you. Hit the. Like, hit the subscribe march. We ain't got a date yet, but we gonna be in North Dakota for the show.
If you are in Fargo. Right?
[00:30:14] Speaker B: Fargo.
[00:30:15] Speaker A: Fargo, yeah, Fargo. Let us know. We can pull up. We wanna find a place to do the show. Live audience. Cause that's what we like to do. And THC is actually doing a show out there. Again, we don't have a date. We don't know where yet. But when we do, we'll let you know. I'm Twitty, that's thc, that's Josh. We out.
