[00:02:33] Speaker A: I know, My bad, my bad.
[00:02:34] Speaker B: Right to the website.
[00:02:35] Speaker A: I don't usually have those cars. I need a card to just like say right there, like, talk about website.
[00:02:40] Speaker B: Got it.
[00:02:40] Speaker A: Until it gets ingrained in me.
What defines you as a man, bro?
[00:02:46] Speaker B: What do you mean?
[00:02:48] Speaker A: What's the qualifications?
So here's what happened. Here's how this came up. Like, like always, I'm out in the streets, I'm out in society. I'm doing my thing. I'm at the grocery store.
I'm gonna say this guy was probably like mid, late 20s, talking to his homie on the phone about how can nobody tell him what to do. Cause he a grown ass man.
[00:03:10] Speaker C: Okay.
[00:03:11] Speaker A: Yet when he got picked up, he said, thanks, mom.
[00:03:17] Speaker B: Yep.
[00:03:19] Speaker A: And I was like, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. You was just talking to the homies about being a grown ass man and moms had to come get you.
[00:03:26] Speaker B: Well, there are places where you know that phrase, fake it till you make it. There are the, the phrases come from these types of.
[00:03:32] Speaker A: Bro was faking it hard.
Cause he was talking a deep voice, like throwing out f bombs.
[00:03:37] Speaker B: How old? How old?
[00:03:38] Speaker A: He looked like? He looked like late 20s, bro. He looked at. I would give him 25. At the youngest, maybe 24.
And it had me thinking, is that late 20s now? Mid to late. I. I think he looked like he was 28, 29. I would say if he was on the late 20s, if he was on the younger end, he'd be no, no younger than 25.
That's what I was saying. But I really think he was 28, 29. I think he almost pushing 30 and had to have Miles come pick him up, but yet was on the phone talking to somebody, talking about, can nobody talk to him? Like that. Cause he a grown ass man.
[00:04:12] Speaker B: Well, I think now. So what are you asking? What are you asking?
[00:04:15] Speaker A: Like, so I think you and I should have a little chit chat in certain departments of what qualifies you to be a man.
Because I think it's beyond, it's beyond a number. Like I don't think, oh, just because you a certain age, you a man. Because clearly if I said 25, this guy checks the box.
[00:04:35] Speaker B: Oh yeah, you're gonna, you're gonna see 30 year olds, 40 year olds still living at home.
[00:04:38] Speaker A: Yeah. So okay, let's talk about that and let's get down the line. So my first department is responsibility.
[00:04:45] Speaker B: Okay.
[00:04:47] Speaker A: And let's go responsibility from basic.
What would you want to call that? Let's call it basic necessities.
So I think to be qualified for me like as a grown ass man, gotta have your own place.
[00:05:02] Speaker B: Okay.
[00:05:03] Speaker A: Like can't, you can't be living with mom or dad. The only, the only exception, at which point you still ain't even saying you living with mom and dad is if they have health issues. But mom and dad is living with you.
That's still a difference. I think you should have your own spot. And if mom and dad get ill, it ain't no you moving back in with them, they're moving in with you. Yeah.
[00:05:23] Speaker C: And that's you being responsible, taking care of your parents.
[00:05:25] Speaker A: Yes. Because there's some people like, well, my parents got health issues. So you move back in with your parents, supposedly take care of them.
[00:05:31] Speaker B: Are you eliminating the ones that already have like enough money to move out because they're part of a trust fund from the family?
They don't count.
[00:05:39] Speaker A: No, we not counting that.
[00:05:42] Speaker B: You got really no excuse to be in this house. Exactly.
[00:05:46] Speaker A: So for me you gotta have a house, you have a steady job which takes that out.
It ain't just like, yeah, I got my own house. Okay, how you earning that? Oh, well, my mom writes me a check every month for my trust fund.
[00:05:58] Speaker B: Men are looked at different in society. Right. We're looked at, we have, there's, there's a lot of expectations that they have for men. Like we have to be this way, we have to be strong, we have to be that way. We have to be able to hold our feelings and we have to be able to do, to accomplish all this stuff. We have to be that to do that. We got a lot of. Nobody knows who you are as a man until you actually do something.
[00:06:17] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:06:18] Speaker B: Like there's a lot of guys out there that a Lot of people don't understand that there's a lot of dudes out there. And I think the number is high. The number is high right now of men that don't ever, ever, ever get to be with a woman. And it's like 50 of all men on the planet.
[00:06:34] Speaker A: And you think that's because they just,
[00:06:36] Speaker B: it's just, it doesn't happen. Like, they just, they buy, they buy themselves. They don't step up, they don't, they don't make themselves known. We don't. Nobody knew who I was until I made noise. If I don't make noise, nobody knows who I am. I stay down. But.
[00:06:50] Speaker A: And I think these things is what does it. And men are quiet because you're not, you're not trying to make noise, right? I think guys, guys are fine not making noise. When it's like, that ain't, that ain't how you become a man.
[00:07:03] Speaker B: No, no, not, not the noise making. What I'm saying is that in order for you to be even recognized by anybody out there, you got to make noise.
[00:07:10] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:07:10] Speaker B: You got to do something. But then you gotta, you gotta, you gotta, you gotta follow. It's, it's the life lessons that are gonna make you a man. Not the time. It's the lessons that you learning that's gonna turn you into a man.
[00:07:20] Speaker A: I agree with that. That's why I said being a man.
[00:07:22] Speaker B: Yeah, like when you said it ain't about numbers. I know, and I agree with that. It's not about the number.
I can find. I can find. I can find a man that's acting like a child in his 20s, just like I could find one in his
[00:07:33] Speaker A: 50s, but I could probably find a. I could find. If there's a guy that's really out there having to make noise. Somebody could be a grown man by 20.
[00:07:42] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
[00:07:43] Speaker A: Somebody could be a grown man by 19, 20. Because they've had to be on their own, check certain boxes.
[00:07:48] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:07:49] Speaker A: And so for me it's house, own household income and it, and then it all ties into that you ain't on your parents phone plan. Or if you are, it's again, it's the flip way of like, hey, I'm gonna save money. So mom and dad hop on my plan. Not I'm on mom and dad's plan and they pay that. Cause I get some people be like, well, it's expensive out here, that's fine. But there's a different way about being on a plan with somebody than just being on their coattails. Is What I always like to, or my grandma would always call it, is you're not gonna be on my coattails all the time. You can make noise and add to the situation to help resolve it for the family, but you're not just going to be living in my house and not paying a phone bill and not having a job and relying on me to get you everywhere. Well, there's a thing called a bus
[00:08:39] Speaker B: you shouldn't, you shouldn't call.
[00:08:40] Speaker A: A ticket.
[00:08:41] Speaker B: Yeah, you, you shouldn't be looking at any of that. 100. You should. If you are relying on somebody else in order for you to get your done, then I'm like, you know what? No, you're not. That's not, that's not a man in my head.
[00:08:55] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:08:55] Speaker B: A man will take care. Will take care of you.
[00:08:57] Speaker A: Find a way.
[00:08:58] Speaker B: A man will check. And, and what's funny is that when you say that too, it's like other men will check. Men.
[00:09:04] Speaker A: Oh. 100.
[00:09:05] Speaker B: That when we see it, we'll be like, why. Why aren't you doing it this way? What's wrong with you?
[00:09:08] Speaker A: We don't make excuses for them.
[00:09:10] Speaker B: Correct. We don't. We. We get, we get right to it. So, like, I mean, I don't, I don't really think it has to do with, like, okay, I, I think it's just handling responsibilities and responsibilities leads to income, responsibilities leads to financial stability.
Yeah, handling. But you got to handle your responsibilities, whatever your responsibilities, because there are people that act like men and are men and are considered men and they don't make a lot of money. They don't make a bunch of stuff, but they handle their business.
[00:09:35] Speaker A: Yeah. I didn't say you had to be rich. I just said you got, you got to have an income.
[00:09:39] Speaker B: Well, of course. Yeah. Well, I mean, you got to have income to do anything. Nowadays. I don't care what you're doing. You. You got to do something.
[00:09:44] Speaker A: But I just know some people, they'd be like, oh, so I got to be rich to be. I didn't say that. I said, you got, you got to have an income.
[00:09:49] Speaker B: You got to handle your business. If you. Handling your. That you. You reaching manhood. That's manhood. If you're coming to people with more.
If you're coming to people with more solutions rather than excuses.
That's.
[00:10:01] Speaker A: That is true.
[00:10:02] Speaker B: That's the best way to. That's the best way to say it.
[00:10:04] Speaker A: Oh, I did like to. You said also before we got on, on, on camera that you said if, if you're not offering something to somebody. Also, like if, if you can't offer something to somebody, I think that also goes to the category that of being a man is like you, you offer
[00:10:22] Speaker B: something because, I mean, because you gotta, you gotta honestly think like, like, like, I mean, I don't, I don't know how other men are. I don't know how they, how, how, how they want to be. But I know I can only speak for myself. And like, I know I, I had kids that depended on me and my kids need me. They, they depended on me to make sure that, that they had certain things in life and they had to go there and I couldn't have an excuse for these cats. I couldn't have it. So I had, I had to say, you know what, I got to step up, I got to do this, I got to do that, I got to do this, I got it. I got to do what I got to do. And most men would do that. Most people that don't go through that, they just give up. They're like, you know what? I'm done.
[00:10:58] Speaker A: So my second, so my second department, when you get out of financial and household stuff, and this one to me is very, it's very 5050 when it comes to. You want to call yourself a grown ass man is.
It's not called electrical. Would you call that almost like DIY or troubleshooting is what I call this department.
Like being able to handle, being able to fix stuff.
[00:11:22] Speaker B: Okay.
[00:11:24] Speaker A: And I think this is where society has made me be a little less on this. But do you feel like there's a difference between knowing how to fix something?
Such as, perfect example, changing a tire. How we both grow up, you should know how to change a tire. Most people might not, but I feel like in society to find a way, you can YouTube it, you can google it, which I think is still a way of knowing how to fix.
[00:11:57] Speaker B: So are you saying that they don't want to get their hands dirty?
[00:11:59] Speaker A: Yeah, like, I think a part of
[00:12:01] Speaker B: they don't want to get their hands dirty. They don't want to, I think a
[00:12:03] Speaker A: part of growing up and being a grown ass man.
[00:12:05] Speaker B: But if they solve the problem, then are they still considered like, this is what I'm saying.
[00:12:10] Speaker A: That's what I wanted to ask you.
[00:12:12] Speaker B: See, I, if, if I wouldn't think they was, I wouldn't think they were acting in accordance to saying that I'm manly, not because they had to go and get somebody else to do it. I would say that they weren't acting like a Man, if they let the problem sit there, that's.
[00:12:28] Speaker A: And that's what I wanted to ask you. There's a difference between just letting it sit and not trying to get a solution.
[00:12:33] Speaker B: If you don't know how to do it, but you go out of your way to find somebody who knows how to do it to come in and e. Help you or you paid for their help.
[00:12:40] Speaker A: I agree with that. I think that.
[00:12:41] Speaker B: And that's still a steal because you didn't stop until the problem was solved.
[00:12:45] Speaker A: I agree with that.
[00:12:46] Speaker B: You don't have to be manly to do it, but it, it does help. And when other people and I. And I'm going to tell some folks out there right now, because I know who. I know who they are, they get mad, and that's fine.
[00:12:55] Speaker A: They get mad.
[00:12:56] Speaker B: They get mad. I don't know how to change a tire. I don't know how to change my starter. I don't know how to change my alternator. Then like Twitty just said, there is YouTube. There is things that you can follow. There is stuff that people will show you. And all you have to do is just shut up.
Listen. Most people don't even want to listen. They got too many damn questions before they can even sit there and try something.
[00:13:15] Speaker A: Right?
[00:13:15] Speaker B: So they, they. And what they're really saying is they scared to try. And that's all it is. And that's what's missing out of that. So when you trying to be a man, you can't. You can't be scared to try.
[00:13:24] Speaker A: No, you gotta. I think you also coming with that is a little bit of pride kicking in, like you said, because to me, it's. Sure. I think back when we grew up, if I had to call somebody to change a tire, I was not considered a man growing up. But in this day and age, I think, okay, you know how to change
[00:13:42] Speaker B: a tire, but I can have aaa.
[00:13:44] Speaker A: But you at least know. You at least know how to call somebody.
[00:13:47] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:13:47] Speaker A: And they know how to communicate. You know how to get on your phone and find a car dealership to help you.
[00:13:53] Speaker B: No, we got to stay on topic because you said to, To. To stay on. You got it? Now this is what, this is what men do. We got to do this. We got. And we got to start expecting more men to do this. Right?
[00:14:03] Speaker A: And that's. And that's where I got a little iffy is like, am I lowering my standards for men? Because.
[00:14:10] Speaker B: Let me, Let me ask you this. Like, and if you are a man that does that, who would rather go and pay somebody else to do it. Okay, let's just say you are. Let's just say, hey, man, I can't do that. I can't paint. I can't. I can't put up this. I'm not a plumber. I'm not. I'm not that. I can't. I can't do all this. And all you can say is, I can't, I can't, I can't, I can't. Yes. Which I was told when I was becoming a man, that can't only means won't.
[00:14:35] Speaker A: Yes.
[00:14:35] Speaker B: And that's the only definition to can't is it's not that you can't do it, it's that you won't do it. So once you learn how to do it, now you have more to offer as a man, when somebody comes to you and says, hey, man, my tire is flat, you know what?
I just did this on my car. I could show you how to do it.
[00:14:54] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:14:55] Speaker B: It's instead of looking at him going, here's the number that I called to have somebody come out and change my tire. You can call them too, right? Because then what are you offering? Right? What are you offering to anybody about who you are? If you can't make that phone call, if you don't have that money in your account no more, let's say you just broke your shit now. You can't call somebody to change a tire. You can't call somebody to help you with your plumbing. You better figure this shit out now.
[00:15:18] Speaker A: Well, and that's.
[00:15:19] Speaker B: If you don't figure it out, you ain't flushing the toilet.
[00:15:22] Speaker A: And that's why I think they all go hand in hand. That's why I started with the financial stability part. Because again, I didn't say you got to be rich if you're making an ends to take care of the necessities you just don't got. I don't know. What if I had to guess to get somebody to come change a tire for it with AAA, even if you got insurance, is at least probably 200, bruh. Like easily probably two. Yeah, I don't know. Because I've never had to call AAA to change a tire for never. So I. So I can't estimate that when somebody's like, it's more than that twitty. I don't freaking know, okay? Because I don't have to have nobody come change my tire. And if I do, it's probably because I can't get it off of the car. But the Only reason why I can't get it off the car and is because the tire's never been changed.
[00:16:03] Speaker B: Right, right, right.
[00:16:04] Speaker A: And again, like you said, there's people out there that be like, well, it's because of this. If your car tire is stuck, it's because that bad boy ain't never been changed or rotated at all. Cause somebody was like, that's when the
[00:16:17] Speaker B: lug nuts get off.
[00:16:18] Speaker A: They were like, it's hard to get off. It's like, bro, so you've never rotated a tire. You've never changed a tire. That's the reason why that car tire is stuck. Like, that's the only ways I'm calling somebody. And even then, I've done a bad service.
[00:16:30] Speaker B: Yep.
[00:16:30] Speaker A: But if you don't have that bread, you got to find a way. Which again, you can go to YouTube, you can have chat GPT walk you through this step by step. Anything.
[00:16:40] Speaker B: Anything.
You are. You are sitting there literally telling yourself that if you can't write this check out to somebody that your don't work.
[00:16:48] Speaker A: And I, I'm not saying I am broke is broke, but I ain't rich. Is rich. And I. And I refuse.
[00:16:53] Speaker B: I don't care if I'm rich. Is rich.
I'm. I'm still doing shit. Oh, yeah. That's di.
[00:16:58] Speaker A: What did they say? That's how the rich stay rich is because they. They are still fruit with their money.
[00:17:03] Speaker B: Yes. Yes. I don't need to spend $8,000 on the fence. I can build the fence myself for 400 bucks.
[00:17:08] Speaker A: Right.
[00:17:09] Speaker B: It's happening.
[00:17:09] Speaker A: So in that line of defense, I think it always is a matter of you have to have some sort of DIY in you. I think to be considered a grown ass man. I ain't saying you gotta be an expert.
I know. I know how to do irrigation. But I, I ended to the point where I could. I could run a business out of it. But if my sprinkler head's busted, I know how you hit me up about it. Yep. And I was able to tell you without even looking at yeah.
[00:17:33] Speaker B: And guess what? I just changed another one.
[00:17:34] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:17:35] Speaker B: And I was like, I remember exactly what to do and exactly how to do it. And I was just like. And I remember asking you because I. I didn't know how far down I had to go. And you could. You was like, no, keep going deeper. And I was like, all right. And then I found out where it just. It just turned off.
[00:17:46] Speaker A: It's a second groove. Yeah. Yeah.
[00:17:48] Speaker B: And it was. It was simple. And Easy, but, but there's a lot of folks that are just like, they couldn't do something like that. And the sprinkler head was six bucks.
So all it took was a little bit of labor.
[00:17:57] Speaker A: That would have been 100 easy. Would have been $150 easily. To call one.
[00:18:02] Speaker B: Yep.
[00:18:02] Speaker A: For one sprinkler head, for a six. $6. And then I probably, I'll give you the worst, I'll give you the worst of the worst. It was $6. And at, at max. If you didn't want to break a sweat, probably would have been an hour and a half of your time, you
[00:18:15] Speaker B: know, and it's, and it's funny because,
[00:18:16] Speaker A: and I'm being generous to say you didn't want to break a sweat. It's really a 30, 40 minute job once you know what you're doing. But if you don't, it's like an hour and a half, an hour 40.
[00:18:24] Speaker B: And I'm not knocking anybody out there who's got a lot of money to pay a lot to pay people to come and do every single thing for them. Change light bulbs, all kind of like that. I've seen it all the way down the line. I've seen people that actually paid somebody to come into their house and change their light bulbs. I've seen folks, I've, I've watched it. So like, I'm like, I don't. When I look at a man that is standing there and is paying all these people, I'm like, okay, well, how good are you if your wallet is empty? Right. What do you have to offer then?
[00:18:55] Speaker A: Can you, can you still get it done?
[00:18:58] Speaker B: Probably not.
[00:18:58] Speaker A: Can you still get her done?
[00:19:00] Speaker B: Probably not.
[00:19:01] Speaker A: Get it did, as they say.
[00:19:02] Speaker B: Nope, probably not.
[00:19:04] Speaker A: Me personally, when I go into this next, this next category, I take this. I don't, I'm telling you right now, if you don't check, if you don't check any of these boxes, you ain't a man to me. Because there is no excuse. It don't matter what era you came from, what generation you are.
And this right here to me is hygiene.
I don't care where you came. I don't care what generation, how old you are, your hygiene.
There is no excuse.
[00:19:39] Speaker B: And the thing is, I don't understand why most folks think that we need to bear that with them.
[00:19:46] Speaker A: No.
[00:19:46] Speaker B: Oh, no, no. But that's what happens is that they think that because they, they tolerate it, that we need to tolerate. We need to be open minded.
[00:19:53] Speaker A: No. No. Crinkly shirt. Wash your ass that, bro.
[00:19:57] Speaker B: Wash your ass.
[00:19:58] Speaker A: Not washing your hair, not not knowing how to at least trim yourself up, bro.
[00:20:04] Speaker B: Look at my head. I still use shampoo and conditioner. Yeah, still happen.
[00:20:09] Speaker A: He said, look at my.
[00:20:10] Speaker B: Look at my head. Yeah, look, look. And I still use shampoo and conditioner still to this day, bro.
[00:20:15] Speaker A: No excuse. I'm sorry.
I'm a little OCD when it comes to ig.
[00:20:21] Speaker B: I'm a lot ocd.
[00:20:22] Speaker A: Yeah, I'm a lot.
[00:20:22] Speaker B: A lot.
[00:20:23] Speaker A: I'm a lot.
[00:20:23] Speaker B: When you talk about doing them, when we talk about what was last week, we talked about doing the most.
[00:20:27] Speaker A: I do the most.
[00:20:28] Speaker B: I do the most with that because I baby powder the lotion. Like, oh, yeah, it's happening.
[00:20:32] Speaker A: My hygiene.
[00:20:33] Speaker B: Oh, yeah.
[00:20:34] Speaker A: I will tell you, you want to classify somebody as a man, and you want to say, a man shouldn't be in a shower for more than three minutes. I'm sorry, that ain't me. I sometimes take longer than my wife.
[00:20:46] Speaker B: Who in there long.
[00:20:46] Speaker A: Who in there?
[00:20:47] Speaker B: Just.
[00:20:47] Speaker A: There's that. There's that little stereotype was like, a man, man. If you. You ain't a man.
[00:20:51] Speaker B: You know who that is? You know who that is? That guy that's that same dude that says you ain't got to wash your feet. That's that same dude that says that. The same dude that says, oh, you ain't got to wash your feet because all the soap is coming down and it's going to get your feet. Now. You still got to wash your feet. No, he's the one done in three days.
[00:21:06] Speaker A: My wife will tell you. And she's joke. She's climbing before, but she's like, you take a shower longer than me, and when I get out, I say, have you ever said that I stink, though?
[00:21:13] Speaker B: Yep.
[00:21:13] Speaker A: And she's like, nope. I.
I pride that shower.
[00:21:18] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:21:18] Speaker A: Yeah. The only way I'm rushing is if I'm like, super late.
But if I've been out in the yard, oh, we're. We're getting underneath the fingernails behind the ear now.
[00:21:27] Speaker B: Let me ask you this. Will you start putting things off? Because you know you're gonna start doing certain jobs. Like, for instance, like, I look down and I'll see my hands and my fingernails, right? And I don't like my fingernails long, but I gotta cut them, right?
[00:21:41] Speaker A: So.
[00:21:41] Speaker B: But I'm thinking to myself, hold on. I'm gonna be working under the car. I'm gonna be working out in the yard. So I'm not gonna cut my nails until after I'm done.
[00:21:49] Speaker A: Yes. Oh, yeah.
[00:21:51] Speaker B: And then cut.
Because it'll come.
[00:21:52] Speaker A: It's a part of the process. Yeah. I'm not. I'm not gonna get that. And then dialed up to go. Then f it up. Yeah, yeah.
[00:21:58] Speaker B: No, no, no, no, no.
[00:22:00] Speaker A: If I gotta get something trimmed. Perfect example. Like my head, it's not cut. But I'm gonna go camping.
So I'm like, I'm already need to be. I ain't trying to impress nobody.
[00:22:10] Speaker B: Correct.
[00:22:10] Speaker A: So I can be rough for another week.
[00:22:12] Speaker B: Right, Right.
[00:22:12] Speaker A: But yeah, no hygiene. That also goes with, like, knowing how to do laundry.
You need a minute, man. Your face.
You need a minute. I there. We ain't never had an intermission on this podcast, but if we need one
[00:22:31] Speaker B: when you. It's not. It's
[00:22:35] Speaker A: take your time.
[00:22:36] Speaker B: Dryer's feet. Something, something. Dryer sheet.
Scratch and sniff something. But don't just come to me and be like, you know. You know, I had this shirt on the last three days. I know. I. I'm looking at it and I've looked at it for the last three days.
It don't smell too bad.
[00:22:58] Speaker C: It's.
[00:22:58] Speaker B: It's bad. It shouldn't have any smell except for like a ax.
[00:23:04] Speaker A: It's just gonna be. You want to go there?
[00:23:06] Speaker B: Acts a cologne, something, maybe. You know what? Not even that. Not even that. Because there's too many people who ain't washing their. Like you was just talking. They ain't washing their clothes. And all they using is Axe body spray.
[00:23:16] Speaker A: Nah.
[00:23:16] Speaker B: And different types of. Different types of.
[00:23:18] Speaker A: No, fellas, I'm telling you, wash it. You know. You know what? My mom, rest her soul, she put the fear in me to make sure she made sure her son was going to be a man. She looked at me and said, no. And this is her exact words, because I was like, why do I got to know how to do this? And why do I got to take care of that? She was like, no woman wants a trifling ass, grown ass man that can't keep his hygiene together. That's true.
[00:23:42] Speaker B: That's 100%.
[00:23:43] Speaker A: My. My mom was on me more about hygiene than probably any chore.
[00:23:48] Speaker B: See, my mom was like that. My mom looked at me and she was like, you know, when she started teaching me how to do all my shit, by the time I was 12 years old, I was doing all my own shit. I was doing my own clothes, I was doing my own washing.
[00:23:57] Speaker A: Laundry was dishes. Pumpkin.
[00:24:00] Speaker B: My mom always told me, because I was like the same way. Like, I could. I could probably have somebody to help me with this. And she, and she used to tell me, she said, you know what, Sean? She goes, I want you to want somebody and not to need somebody. You, I want, I want you to know that you can take care of your own self and do your own. You don't need anybody to do that. And whoever you choose to be in there is because you want them to be there.
[00:24:21] Speaker A: I don't need them. Right? Yeah. Oh, my mom.
As soon as I get out the shower, checking the ears. Nope. Get back in there. Oh, he's behind the ears, bro. I, I think that's why I'm so. I used, I used to be that kid that just let the shampoo behind the ear.
Mom did not like that. I don't know how she could look behind and be like, you didn't use a rag.
[00:24:40] Speaker B: Have you ever had your ear pull over the, the COVID of your ear like from the back to the front to where you actually lost hearing in that ear for two seconds?
[00:24:48] Speaker A: Yes.
[00:24:49] Speaker B: It was like. He was like, yeah.
[00:24:51] Speaker A: And it was closed. Like that is how my mom checked my ear.
[00:24:55] Speaker B: Right on the back of it in that little curve. Little curve.
[00:24:57] Speaker A: Because we had the hallway light right above. So she would pull it. So she pull your head sideways. Yeah. And she was like, I don't care because you dark skinned. She said, I can tell what's dirt and what's your skin. And sure enough. Yeah.
[00:25:08] Speaker B: So hygiene number one, bro. Hygiene. Your clothes got to be.
[00:25:13] Speaker A: There's no excuse.
[00:25:14] Speaker B: Take care of yourself. I mean there's no.
[00:25:17] Speaker A: It's because that's, that's also like, that defines you. Like you're older. The fight. Your, your hygiene is more defined than you know how to change a tire in my book.
Because if, if I can smell you before I come help you.
I got, I got bigger questions and
[00:25:33] Speaker B: I'm, and I'm going to tell you like this is like. And this where I get in arguments with a lot of people. I'm going to tell you like this.
I'm not even really mad at these boys that ain't getting it. I'm mad at their daddies.
[00:25:43] Speaker A: Oh yeah.
[00:25:44] Speaker B: I'm 100% mad. I want, I want to talk, I want to talk to their dad. I want to talk to their dad and be like, how would you then like when Curtis Jackson aka 50 Cent threw out a pitch and it was horrible.
[00:25:57] Speaker A: It was bad.
[00:25:57] Speaker B: It was horrible. I was not mad at Curtis Jackson. I was like, curtis, that is not your fault. That is your dad's fault.
[00:26:04] Speaker A: Dad's fault.
[00:26:05] Speaker B: Dad should have looked at that and been like, what the hell? That's my kid.
Holy.
Nah. That's one thing about being a man, too, is you got to pass that on. Yeah, you got to. You got to be able to pass it on to your other kids. But it's like, I, I tell, I tell. I see today's folks like, I'm just like, man, you, you. We gotta step up. We gotta. We gotta be. And we gotta. As men that have already been there, we gotta start checking, because this is, this is what I noticed.
[00:26:30] Speaker A: We do. Got to start checking. I started the conversation by saying I have. As a society, we have set a low bar.
[00:26:37] Speaker B: When you've seen that person on the phone talking to moms, talking to all this. I should have said, mom pickup. You should have said something.
[00:26:42] Speaker A: And you know, you know, you know, I told myself to, which is why I thought about this conversation. I was like, now if that's what he wants to be.
[00:26:49] Speaker B: No. And that's.
[00:26:50] Speaker A: I, I'm. I'm confessing.
[00:26:53] Speaker B: That's why we got to get on these fathers. We got to get on these fathers. And I'm not saying anything about mothers not being able to raise, but I'm going to tell you something. I, I, and I, I strongly feel this. I strongly feel this. Okay? I don't think that a man that's. That's raising his daughters can actually teach a girl how to become a woman. I don't believe.
[00:27:11] Speaker A: No.
[00:27:12] Speaker B: And I also don't believe that a woman can take a young man and make him into a man.
[00:27:16] Speaker A: Oh, no.
[00:27:17] Speaker B: I don't think that that can happen. There's certain traits and stuff that they gonna learn from, different from. You're gonna learn trace from your father, you're gonna learn trace from your mother. And both of them are traits that, that each person needs. But there's a little part. Like, my kids, like, I know my sons, I had three boys, and I know my sons, when they came up, they were sitting there, you know, and. And there were some times they got a little bit of air in their lungs because they thought they was. They was young men, and they was.
[00:27:40] Speaker A: You got to get checked.
[00:27:41] Speaker B: And they thought they could bark at their mom because they was like, you know, they was like, oh, bigger than mom. But it was. They turn around and they feel this palm touch their chest. Boom. And all that air leave. And they just look at me, and I'm like, yeah, chest getting a little big there, bruh. Anytime you feeling froggy, just leap.
Anytime you feeling Froggy, just make a list. I'm. Let's go, let's go. But that's what daddy. That's what daddies are for. Daddies are there to check.
[00:28:07] Speaker A: He said, if you feeling froggy, dog.
[00:28:10] Speaker B: As soon as my kids was born, the first, the first word they heard out of my mouth, they was like, it's a boy. And I said, no.
They knew exactly what.
[00:28:19] Speaker A: No, you want to leave. THC was like, I'm here 24, 24, 7, 7 days a week.
[00:28:25] Speaker B: And that's what you got. And as a father, that's what you do. And you check that you got. They don't get buff, but you got to. And it's not being aggressive with them. It's not being mad, but it's helping them take that type of urge or that type of thing and controlling that.
[00:28:38] Speaker A: Well. Cause I, this is the other thing I feel like is that same kid that I heard, if you gonna claim to be a grown ass man, you don't get to turn that switch on and off.
[00:28:47] Speaker B: No.
[00:28:48] Speaker A: And I think that's what's the problem with society today is you don't, you don't. You can't turn that switch on and off. You can't decide to be a grown man with your homies. And then you gotta get home. And now I'm a child.
[00:29:00] Speaker B: What are you talking about? Today's generation. That's all it is. We all playing. Everybody's playing.
[00:29:04] Speaker A: There is no on and off.
[00:29:05] Speaker B: Sw. Everybody's playing. Nobody now. Nobody now. When people, they don't, they, they think that, that, that the, the punishment is always outweighing the crime. Now that's what, that's the way the mindset is, is that they think that the punishment is unfair to the crime. And it's like, who are you? You don't want to committed a crime. You can't pick the punishment.
[00:29:24] Speaker A: Yeah, you gotta, you gotta take that, you gotta eat it.
[00:29:26] Speaker B: And, and, and you know what it is? I say it, I say it right now. You want to know when you become a man.
And I'm gonna tell you when you become a man. And this is gonna be for all ages. You want to know when you become a man.
If you want to.
[00:29:37] Speaker A: Better hope I qualify.
[00:29:38] Speaker B: The day you get your ass whooped. The day you get your ass.
The day you really get your ass kicked. I'm not talking about the day you kick somebody's ass. I'm talking about the day you get your ass kicked. Because I'll tell you something. In my life, the Times that I got my ass kicked, I humbled myself so much.
[00:29:56] Speaker A: Yeah, I learned from that.
[00:29:58] Speaker B: And there's a lot of. There's a lot of guys out here, and there's a lot of dudes out here that talk, talk, talk, talk, talk, talk, talk. And the minute they get that yakuta right in their mouth, they don't know
[00:30:07] Speaker A: how to react, they don't know how
[00:30:08] Speaker B: to act, they don't know what to do. They don't even know. Most of these. Most of these young folks don't even know how to fight. Like, they don't even know how to get down.
[00:30:14] Speaker A: Yeah, I've taken. I've taken an L before.
[00:30:17] Speaker B: I've taken many.
[00:30:18] Speaker A: I've taken.
[00:30:19] Speaker B: I've taken many L's.
[00:30:21] Speaker A: Sorry, I've taken L's.
[00:30:23] Speaker B: I would even say that my L's have outweighed my W's.
[00:30:26] Speaker A: I.
Yeah, I would.
[00:30:27] Speaker B: I would even say that because I wouldn't even had a W. You let. I had some Ls. I wouldn't know how to get a W if I didn't have Ls. I can't learn how to win if I don't know how to cope with losing.
[00:30:38] Speaker A: That is. Oh, yeah, that's. That's, that's.
[00:30:41] Speaker B: That's how you know you a man. When you get your ass whooped and you get down and you can actually sit down, you could be like, you know, all this I believed and all this that I had faith in just got thrown out the window right now. When this dude beat the out of me and reminded me where my place was, this is where I'm at. No matter how much you want to talk, no matter how much money you think you got, no matter how much you got, what it is, when it comes down to you stepping in the ring, you about to get your ass with nobody. You can't run.
[00:31:09] Speaker A: That's true.
[00:31:09] Speaker B: You become a whole different person now all of a sudden. All the money you make don't matter. All the people you know don't matter.
[00:31:15] Speaker A: Fight or flight, bruh.
[00:31:16] Speaker B: That is why I like Mike Tyson. Mike Tyson was probably my. My favorite boxer ever. And it's not because he was. He was like that. He was knocking fools out. He was the only boxer that I know of that goes to target by himself.
Every other boxer I know have got bodyguards around him. Every other fighter I know got bodyguards around him. Mike Tyson was the only one that go into Walmart and buy a gallon of milk.
[00:31:39] Speaker A: He wasn't afraid.
[00:31:40] Speaker B: He wasn't afraid of Nobody but he had his L's, but he knew how to control his L's and turn them into W's. You can't get W's until you get
[00:31:48] Speaker A: S. Well, I said it. He.
If you take an L, you. You gonna. You don't got nothing you like. I already lost.
[00:31:55] Speaker B: It's too many dudes standing around right now talking so much about how much they gonna whoop somebody ass and ain't never had an ass whooping themselves. Not once. Not once to actually realize what you talking about. What are you talking about?
[00:32:08] Speaker A: Yeah, most dudes that chirp a lot, yeah. They ain't took a nail before.
[00:32:12] Speaker B: Stop chirping. If you talk so much, then I know you. You ain't never been in a fight.
If you run in your mouth, that means you did all of this to avoid fighting.
[00:32:21] Speaker A: That's true.
[00:32:22] Speaker B: And when it comes down to it, that.
[00:32:23] Speaker A: That's.
[00:32:24] Speaker B: That's the bottom line right there. If to say you a man, you have to. You have to be able to admit you taking it. You taking an L, or that you've
[00:32:32] Speaker A: taken an L. You have. You will. Because anybody can say they'll take a nail, but have you actually taken.
[00:32:37] Speaker B: Yeah, they're taking a real ass whooping. Has your mouth and yo, and your actions ever giving you a real ass whooping when you actually had to take it.
And just look at your whole life because after you get your.
Am I lying, though? Am I lying? It doesn't matter how. It don't matter if you're 19. It don't matter if you 26. It don't matter if you're 35 when you get your ass whooped and you got to sit down and sit on the sidewalk, you start having epiphanies.
[00:33:02] Speaker A: And yeah, you do. You take. You take it all the way back.
[00:33:06] Speaker B: You start.
[00:33:06] Speaker C: You.
[00:33:06] Speaker B: You start thinking of how you got to this situation.
[00:33:10] Speaker A: That's.
[00:33:10] Speaker B: That's where it happens. That's when you start becoming a man. Because you start telling yourself, okay, these are the mistakes I made, so this is where I need to go.
[00:33:18] Speaker A: That is true. Bro says you'll be taking it back. Yeah, you do, though.
[00:33:23] Speaker B: You even. You even involved, like, if somebody sit down and was like, you okay, you look at him like, you remember that one time that I was like, yeah, yeah, you start taking it back.
[00:33:32] Speaker A: Yo, in the movies, when they do take an L, they do be having
[00:33:35] Speaker B: that, like, you know, got that epiphany now. You thought you was this.
You thought that your whole didn't stink if you and you got your ass whooped. And when you get your ass whooped, that's how you know where you stand. You don't know where you stand unless you fall.
[00:33:47] Speaker A: That's facts.
[00:33:48] Speaker B: You gotta take an L. You gotta.
[00:33:50] Speaker A: I. I had to ask. I was like, this, this one gone. This gonna. This gonna hit tac. Cause I, I don't usually listen to people conversations.
[00:33:58] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:33:58] Speaker A: And I think I would have been fine if he would have said that and like click the car.
But the fact that I'm walking out and he's just like, yeah, they ain't talking to me like that. I'm a grown ass man.
Thanks for come get me, mom. And then literally get in the car.
And I was like, that, that.
[00:34:16] Speaker B: That's somebody that don't.
[00:34:17] Speaker A: That don't match.
[00:34:18] Speaker B: That ain't. That's somebody that ain't never felt a real fist to the face now. And I mean like a real fist. I know some days, some people don't even know how to punch. But if you know how to punch somebody in the face and you give them that real. It's an eye up. It's an awakener. I. When I used to bounce clubs, there was guys that came in chips on their shoulder that they get big. Oh, you not a cop. You just a. You they'll call me. Rent a cop like you, it's always called.
As a bouncer, I used to get called all kinds of shit. Oh, you ain't a real cop. You ain't a real cop. But the minute, the minute they put their hands on me, it's lights. Bam. Then they sit back. Speech change everything. Then they looking.
I'm so sorry. I was like, well, what, what happened?
[00:34:56] Speaker A: I've taken. Ls the one. The two that I'll never forget. I was with my homies and one of them was yapping and I had his back.
[00:35:04] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:35:05] Speaker A: And we got extra jumped. It was like three of us and there was like nine or 10 of them.
[00:35:09] Speaker B: That's my boy, Ross.
[00:35:10] Speaker A: And I. Yep. And I turned, I took one and I was run. Running into it. I took care of one dude, slammed him as I got up. Just took it. And I just. I'll never forget one knee and one hand on the ground and life flashing so fast because it was like I can either curl up and hope for the best or I gotta shake this off.
Figure it out.
[00:35:31] Speaker B: It's the truth, man.
[00:35:32] Speaker A: It just like you when you get hit.
[00:35:34] Speaker B: Yeah. When you get real, like. No, I mean like real hit.
[00:35:37] Speaker A: Yes.
[00:35:37] Speaker B: See, like some folks don't understand real hit. Like, I've been hit with the bottom of people's hands. I've been hit with, like, the side of their hands because they. Because most people don't know how to punch.
[00:35:45] Speaker A: No, I've been hit full knuckles.
[00:35:48] Speaker B: It dramatically. When somebody. When somebody, like, like, hits and resets and looks at you like, okay, these, like, when you see somebody load up, when they walk up to you and they. And they shake their hands, you're like, okay, all right, here we this. It's gonna be a hard one. But when they hit you and they hit you solid, you. You will. You will have, like, thoughts. You want to sit down and just be like. Like, what am I doing? Like, what is happening right now? When you have these kind of thoughts, that's when you start becoming a man. Because you find out how far you was until somebody put your ass back on the floor.
[00:36:19] Speaker A: And you do. You go back and you think, all right, I thought I was a man. No, I should have never said I was a man right there. I thought I was a man here. I should have never said it there.
[00:36:27] Speaker B: If you try to explain to me that you a man and all you have is W's, you ain't a real man. I look you in the face and I call you a real man. You can't be a real man without an L. I'm sorry. You gotta have Ls, you gotta have Ls, or else you ain't never learned. What did you learn? If you got wins all the time, you ain't learn nothing.
[00:36:44] Speaker C: Do you think that applies to just fights or just life in general, too?
[00:36:46] Speaker B: I think that applies to everything.
[00:36:48] Speaker A: Oh, it's everything.
But.
[00:36:50] Speaker B: But we were just talking fights. But yeah, yeah, like.
[00:36:52] Speaker A: Well, think about.
[00:36:52] Speaker B: It applies to everything.
[00:36:53] Speaker A: But I mean, if you've had a car that just always runs.
[00:36:56] Speaker B: But I mean, like, you won't never
[00:36:57] Speaker A: know how to check a car. You don't know how to know, like, if your car is making a weird noise, you just don't let it go correct. And if you've been in. I had this. You've been in an apartment and you ain't make rent, and you come home and all your shit is out in the front door. Yep, yep, yep. You know, you don't know how to call and have a backup if you have gotten. I never had this. But I seen people, because I was always about being punctual. If you've never been fired from a job because you didn't show up on time.
[00:37:25] Speaker B: Right.
[00:37:26] Speaker A: You don't like, those are also ales.
[00:37:28] Speaker B: Yes.
[00:37:29] Speaker A: You don't learn from those if you don't have them, so. Yeah, I agree, Sean. It's. It's everything in life.
[00:37:35] Speaker B: Yep.
[00:37:35] Speaker A: Cooking. You don't know how to cook if you ain't ever tried. You done burnt something.
[00:37:39] Speaker B: But. But I. But I would say. But I would say, Sean, getting your ass kicked is where you start teaching how to be a man. Yeah, well, to be a man, specifically.
[00:37:48] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:37:48] Speaker B: Because I don't think you are a man if you're walking around here and you ain't never really had somebody hand your ass to you.
I don't. I don't think so. I don't think you a man because. Because you just talking right now.
[00:37:58] Speaker A: I've had my. I've. I took more Ls from my family than out in them streets.
[00:38:03] Speaker B: I'm about to say my uncles.
[00:38:04] Speaker A: Oh, there was no mercy.
[00:38:06] Speaker B: No. I think I had more in the street than I had at from the family.
[00:38:10] Speaker A: They were pretty close. I know. Probably. If I had to say, like, my first 10, seven came from family.
[00:38:15] Speaker B: More than likely, though, all my sevens. Oh, excuse me. All my seven. All my. All my. My family fights in my family, like, have. Have went from Ls to Ws. But the ones in the street stay at ales.
[00:38:27] Speaker A: Nah, the ones.
[00:38:27] Speaker B: The ones in the street stay at it.
[00:38:29] Speaker A: The ones with family. My uncles. Oh, they were Ls. And they. They made sure. Well, because like you said, I was born.
[00:38:36] Speaker B: They was. They was ELs as far as lessons go. Yeah, but as far as if they had to get your back on something else, then it becomes a W. Yes.
[00:38:43] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I'm talking from this.
[00:38:45] Speaker B: But in the streets, would you get that L. That's.
[00:38:47] Speaker A: Hell, yeah.
[00:38:48] Speaker B: The rest of your life, it ain't never going to be a W. No.
[00:38:50] Speaker A: My uncles, they. Like you said I wanted to bark. That's how I learned how if you gonna really say something, there is no turning back.
[00:38:57] Speaker B: No, you go on.
[00:38:58] Speaker A: When I said I was grown. Yeah. My uncle said, let's go outside right now. And I'm like, what you talking about? You grown, right? Let's go outside.
[00:39:04] Speaker B: I. We.
[00:39:05] Speaker A: I could have not disrespected anybody. All I said was, I'm grown. Let's go outside.
And they're like, if you want to be grown, you need to be ready to be grown 24,7. So we gonna go outside. What are we gonna do outside? Don't ask questions. You grown, you shouldn't be scared she's scared of, bro, go outside. As soon as I walk outside to the head, getting thrown into a trash can, thrown into some bushes.
[00:39:27] Speaker B: You a man.
[00:39:28] Speaker A: Yep, Uncle, I was just playing. You don't get to play to be a man like you don't. You don't get to turn that switch
[00:39:32] Speaker B: on and that there's gonna be a lot of people, probably a lot of people, my uncles. You should report them. You should tell them for what? Why are you taking away the lesson?
[00:39:41] Speaker A: Who, who am I going to report them to?
[00:39:43] Speaker B: No, no, but, but think, but no, but think back then.
[00:39:46] Speaker A: Who?
[00:39:46] Speaker B: Oh, no, you wouldn't report.
[00:39:48] Speaker A: Call the police.
[00:39:49] Speaker B: But what I'm saying is, what I'm saying is, is that was it a little bit, was a little bit rough. And I look right at the camera, it was a little bit of rough. So who cares? Did you learn the lesson?
[00:40:02] Speaker A: I did.
[00:40:03] Speaker B: Did you keep the lesson?
[00:40:04] Speaker A: I sure did.
[00:40:05] Speaker B: Now, if you was given an option to not have to learn that lesson, what would you have learned?
[00:40:09] Speaker A: Bro, I would have said that you to, to the wrong person and would have been hospitalized.
[00:40:13] Speaker B: Done, Done, done. So you was lucky you said it to a family member, cuz if you said it to the wrong person on the street. Yeah. You ain't getting a second chance.
[00:40:21] Speaker A: And like I said, yeah, did I get banged up? But they weren't, they weren't going to kill me.
[00:40:25] Speaker B: So what, you needed to get banged up?
[00:40:26] Speaker A: Yeah, 100%, bro.
[00:40:28] Speaker B: I, I, I'm same boat.
[00:40:29] Speaker A: That's why I said, well, you know what? I, I don't, I don't talk, bro.
[00:40:33] Speaker B: When I grew, when I grew up, if we got beat in Hawaii, if we were getting, if we were getting whipped in Hawaii, we, we lined up, we stood in a line to get whooped. My aunt was at the front with the belt. We had it. I mean, it was like a line just going, next one. I mean, I even look like, why are we in line for this?
[00:40:50] Speaker A: Why we, why? Yeah, that's when you know, you discipline. You just stood in line.
[00:40:54] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:40:54] Speaker A: And you tell.
[00:40:55] Speaker B: Don't even try to run.
[00:40:56] Speaker A: No, don't even try to run. I feel like. Because if you ran, it was gonna be worse.
[00:41:01] Speaker B: But I really think that, I really think that, I really think that dudes that sit there and say, I'm a real man. Okay, get your ass whooped. I want to see you get your ass whooped. Get in there. See, that's what, that's what that movie Fight Club was about. It was, it was just, hey, it wasn't about you beating people. It was about, can you take this? Can you get that? Can you get this and still stand up? Yep.
[00:41:19] Speaker A: Producer Sean up in the building.
Sadly. Yep. One last time.
[00:41:23] Speaker B: Oh, my God. I don't want to talk about this.
[00:41:25] Speaker A: Would you rather.
[00:41:26] Speaker B: I don't know if anybody at home knows, but producer Sean is leaving us. He talks about it today, and we a little hurt.
[00:41:31] Speaker A: Not a little. We a lot of hurt. This is the final take. A lot of Ls this.
[00:41:34] Speaker B: This is an L. And his name is Sean, too. And, like, now I'm. Every time I hear Sean, it's about me.
[00:41:39] Speaker A: Yeah. You can't. You can't cover hiding. He can't pass it on to him.
[00:41:44] Speaker B: Gotta pass it on.
[00:41:45] Speaker A: You can't play dumb.
[00:41:46] Speaker B: Hey, Sean, they looking for you.
[00:41:48] Speaker A: All right, Producer Sean, would you rather lay it on us related to manhood or becoming a man?
[00:41:55] Speaker B: Yep.
[00:41:56] Speaker C: So this is gonna be more of a choice option.
So I'm gonna give you a scenario, and you're gonna call it man, child, or young man?
[00:42:05] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:42:06] Speaker B: I like this one a little bit different.
[00:42:08] Speaker A: Child or young man?
[00:42:09] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:42:10] Speaker C: All right. First thing calls AAA to change a flat tire.
[00:42:14] Speaker B: Young man.
[00:42:15] Speaker A: Young man.
[00:42:15] Speaker C: Yeah. Cause he's got a phone. Or old.
[00:42:17] Speaker B: Old, old, old man.
One of them, too.
[00:42:23] Speaker A: I know how to do it, but I'm not getting that he can't do it.
[00:42:26] Speaker B: You know what I mean? Like, he just can't move that. He just can't move.
[00:42:29] Speaker A: How many holes put? Like, four or five.
[00:42:32] Speaker B: That's what I'm saying. Like, 70s, 80s. Like, I don't. I wouldn't. Like. Like, I n. I.
When you look at him and you just like, nah, I gotta. You gotta pull over there.
[00:42:40] Speaker A: Yeah, Bro said old. Old, old, old, old man. No, that's. That's a young man.
[00:42:45] Speaker B: Young man.
[00:42:46] Speaker A: That's a young man.
[00:42:47] Speaker C: Doesn't grill a good steak.
[00:42:49] Speaker B: Young man.
[00:42:51] Speaker A: Yeah. Cause you. You're not a child if you don't know how to grill.
[00:42:54] Speaker B: So.
[00:42:54] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:42:54] Speaker C: Young man asked his wife how to use the washing machine.
[00:43:00] Speaker B: Very young man.
[00:43:01] Speaker A: I'm gonna say child.
[00:43:02] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:43:03] Speaker C: You could give them, like, even if this child. It's not about, like, how old they are.
[00:43:05] Speaker A: Sorry, sorry, sorry. Sean, you said. You said he asked his wife how to use it.
[00:43:10] Speaker B: Yep.
[00:43:10] Speaker A: Yeah, that's child. Yeah, it's a child.
[00:43:12] Speaker B: 100. Yeah.
[00:43:14] Speaker A: A young man would maybe ask that wife.
[00:43:16] Speaker B: Yeah. That wife has at least one kid.
[00:43:17] Speaker A: Yeah.
Yeah. That's a child. You asking your wife how to use it. That's a child.
[00:43:23] Speaker B: Yeah. Especially because you bought it. Yeah.
[00:43:26] Speaker A: You ain't figure out how to use it.
[00:43:28] Speaker C: Reads the instructions before assembling furniture.
[00:43:30] Speaker B: Oh, man. Or a grown man.
[00:43:32] Speaker A: Grown man.
[00:43:32] Speaker B: Grown man.
[00:43:33] Speaker A: You don't learn.
[00:43:34] Speaker B: Oh, yeah.
[00:43:35] Speaker A: You learned your lesson. Young man.
[00:43:37] Speaker B: Yeah, young man. We just. Oh, I just look at the picture. Yeah.
[00:43:40] Speaker A: I'm still in that young. Yeah, I know. It depends on the project. Okay.
[00:43:43] Speaker B: Let me ask you something. Do you have the box with the picture on it? Look it up so you can look at it while you're doing it. Damn it. See? Damn it, old man. Yeah, that's. That's grown man. We pull out our reading glasses. We pull out the reading glasses. Bra. We even look at the instructions, and we check the tool part. You know, you should have the screwdriver. Yeah, No, I want it. If I'm paying for this, I want all my. Let me. Let me look in here. You do that little thing with the glass.
[00:44:05] Speaker C: Let me look.
[00:44:06] Speaker B: Let me look here.
[00:44:07] Speaker A: That's. That's the.
[00:44:08] Speaker B: Yes.
[00:44:08] Speaker A: Bro Said we checked the tool.
[00:44:10] Speaker B: Yeah, we checked. To make sure the screwdriver in there. Because it says it has a screwdriver. It says it had an Allen wrench.
[00:44:15] Speaker A: You gonna. You're gonna check for some that you know you ain't even gonna use.
[00:44:18] Speaker B: No, I.
[00:44:18] Speaker A: Cause you know you're gonna get your drill out.
[00:44:20] Speaker B: I know
[00:44:23] Speaker A: you check it for a screwdriver and you ain't even gonna use it.
[00:44:26] Speaker B: I'm saying, what kind of screwdriver?
Because maybe I. That's. That's why I have so many little screwdrivers and so many Allen wrenches. Because I don't get rid of tools. I kind of. I just. Basically, I'm. I'm reading to see the free tools I get with this thing. Because you right. I'm gonna use my own tools.
[00:44:43] Speaker A: I'm a young man in that aspect. That's. That's grown man status. I ain't there yet.
[00:44:46] Speaker B: That's the one. But. But us, the grown man that. We get to. That.
[00:44:50] Speaker A: That.
[00:44:50] Speaker B: That. What is it? Step three, section A. Yeah.
Paragraph B. That says you're supposed to connect A to C first before you put B in there.
[00:45:01] Speaker C: You gotta take the whole thing.
[00:45:02] Speaker B: Yep. Then you got. Or you gotta take the whole thing apart.
[00:45:04] Speaker A: Like I said. That's. That is. That's. That's some luxury grown man status. I ain't got time yet to be reading.
[00:45:10] Speaker C: That's lessons.
[00:45:10] Speaker B: What else you got?
[00:45:11] Speaker A: That's lessons.
[00:45:14] Speaker C: Gets emotional at his daughter's wedding.
[00:45:17] Speaker B: At his daughter's wedding.
[00:45:18] Speaker C: Yep.
Sees his baby girl walk down the aisle.
[00:45:21] Speaker B: Nah, that's grown man.
[00:45:22] Speaker A: That's.
[00:45:23] Speaker B: That's definitely.
[00:45:23] Speaker A: It's got to be. That's got to be a bigger word than that. That's beyond that. That's elite. That's like elite.
[00:45:28] Speaker B: That's grown. That's. Yeah, because, I mean, that's. That means that he actually raised her and kept her. Kept her going and kept her going to get her to that point. Yeah.
[00:45:36] Speaker C: And.
[00:45:37] Speaker A: And in fact, that's OG Stats.
[00:45:39] Speaker B: And in fact. Yeah. And in fact, if anybody at that wedding makes fun of that father for crying, they will whoop his ass.
Anybody at that wedding.
[00:45:49] Speaker A: Oh, yeah.
[00:45:50] Speaker B: Like, why you make a funny pop. Like, what? For what?
[00:45:52] Speaker A: Oh, yeah. Nah, seeing what. Yeah, that's. That's OG stuff.
[00:45:56] Speaker B: That's OG all right.
[00:45:57] Speaker C: This one's kind of tough. Admits he doesn't know something.
[00:46:04] Speaker A: I don't think there's a category for that.
I don't know if there's a category
[00:46:09] Speaker B: that might fit all of them.
[00:46:10] Speaker A: That.
[00:46:11] Speaker B: That might be. That might be d. All the above.
[00:46:13] Speaker A: Yeah.
But if I gotta pick one. Will not admit. What was the question again?
[00:46:20] Speaker C: Admits that he doesn't know something.
[00:46:22] Speaker A: Okay. So he won't know that he doesn't know.
[00:46:24] Speaker B: Okay. Because a child, automatically, a young man will try to say that they do. They just forgot.
[00:46:33] Speaker A: Yes. And it's always the butt after an
[00:46:36] Speaker B: older person like myself.
We will try to find other things first before we admit that we can't get to it.
[00:46:45] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:46:45] Speaker B: We'd be like, well, maybe if we try it this way or something. Or maybe that's when the glasses come out again. So it's the same time we reading
[00:46:51] Speaker A: the instructions or the. I feel like I've heard this before from, like, my grandfather or just any older men I've been around of. I've done this before. But.
[00:47:00] Speaker B: Yes. Yes.
[00:47:01] Speaker A: It just don't seem to be working.
[00:47:02] Speaker B: Like, I don't remember. Goes to the left, it goes to the right. But then we won't. We won't admit.
[00:47:07] Speaker A: We won't admit it. But they're just. That's. That's the way of saying.
[00:47:10] Speaker B: But the problem is, is it. We'll say it out loud until somebody makes something that might sound. That might make sense. Like it.
[00:47:18] Speaker C: If.
[00:47:19] Speaker B: If I say I can't get this to go and I can't remember if it goes this way and somebody says, maybe the design says it's got to be turned around, you go, you know what?
That makes sense. That makes sense. But that'd be Us admitting that's that we all yell.
[00:47:33] Speaker A: You asking for help?
[00:47:34] Speaker B: Yes, we asking for help.
[00:47:35] Speaker A: You're not talking out loud.
[00:47:36] Speaker B: No, no, no, no. We throwing it out so it might sound familiar to somebody else.
[00:47:41] Speaker A: That's how we do it.
[00:47:42] Speaker B: That's how we ask for help.
[00:47:43] Speaker A: That's good to know. That's a. We just. I just learned something today.
Bro said, I ain't talking out loud. I'm asking for help, just in a different way.
[00:47:51] Speaker B: Watch that. Next time we go to work, Tritia gonna be like, why people? Why Pete say it so loud. I tell you why.
[00:47:57] Speaker A: I'm gonna go get him that help he needs.
I'm gonna go help this man out.
You do. Do. I get it now? That makes a lot of sense.
A lot of stuff clicking. Boy, you just opened up a lot of can of worms that boy. Man. That clicks right there.
All right. Was that your last one?
[00:48:19] Speaker C: I gotta.
[00:48:20] Speaker A: Okay, hit me.
[00:48:21] Speaker C: Says no to buying something because he can't actually afford it.
[00:48:24] Speaker B: Yep. Oh, can't actually afford it, but wants it.
[00:48:27] Speaker C: Yep.
Wants it real bad, but he knows he.
[00:48:30] Speaker B: Okay, young man. That's not a young man. Because a young man would just buy that shit. A younger man still will probably buy that shit. Yep.
[00:48:35] Speaker A: That's gotta. That's gotta.
[00:48:36] Speaker B: Old man.
[00:48:37] Speaker A: That's gotta be grown old man.
[00:48:38] Speaker B: Because. Yeah. Because I am very frugal.
[00:48:40] Speaker A: Yep. Got very priorities.
[00:48:42] Speaker C: Younger.
[00:48:43] Speaker A: You're like, who cares? Yep.
[00:48:44] Speaker B: Yep, yep, yep.
[00:48:45] Speaker A: You psychologically. You go in wanting it and it's not, and then you can't afford it. So you psychologically just tell yourself, I didn't want it anyway.
[00:48:52] Speaker B: Yeah. The young man just gonna buy it. The younger man gonna buy it and then try to figure out why he bought it.
[00:48:56] Speaker A: Yep.
[00:48:57] Speaker B: And then the older man just gonna be like, ah, nah.
[00:48:59] Speaker A: Nope. You change your mindset. I thought you'll go get that Peabody. I ain't need it.
[00:49:03] Speaker B: Yeah. Because I could. I. Because I'm going. When I look at something that I want to buy, I look at what do I have in my. In my shop right now that could probably do the same.
So the price better be on money. It better be on point.
[00:49:17] Speaker A: That's a good point.
[00:49:18] Speaker C: Okay, last one.
[00:49:20] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:49:20] Speaker C: Tells his wife. Sorry, honey. You were right.
[00:49:25] Speaker B: Young man.
Young man.
[00:49:28] Speaker A: I've. I've. I've heard old folks.
That's old love. They just. You. You don't never admit that.
[00:49:34] Speaker B: Old folks will look at their wife and just be like, what'd you say?
I've heard other couples. You did that so perfectly I've heard older couples. I've heard older covers that. I've heard an older couple argue at a restaurant where the lady got mad and the man just looked, where you going?
Don't nobody else wants you. You stay.
[00:49:53] Speaker A: And then.
[00:49:54] Speaker B: And then she turned around and said, don't nobody else wants you. He goes, yeah, that's why we stuck.
[00:49:57] Speaker A: Why are old people the most harsh and truthful at the same time about each other?
[00:50:04] Speaker B: Because they've been together for so long. They've been together for so long.
[00:50:07] Speaker A: Because that laugh is the laugh. We've had this conversation.
[00:50:11] Speaker B: When you know somebody for decades, and I mean decades. You. You with somebody for 40, 50, 30, 30, 40, 50 years, you gonna hear every single word.
[00:50:24] Speaker A: Somebody just chatted. You just got one of my phones activated.
[00:50:27] Speaker C: No, I think it was that Bluetooth thing on the wall again.
[00:50:30] Speaker B: Oh, that's what we keep looking for. That scared the.
What was he saying now?
[00:50:34] Speaker A: Oh, you're talking about when you've been together with somebody for it.
[00:50:37] Speaker B: When you've been together with somebody.
[00:50:38] Speaker A: You heard it all.
[00:50:38] Speaker B: You done heard everything. Not. Not heard it all. You done heard everything that that person can say.
[00:50:44] Speaker A: Gotcha.
[00:50:45] Speaker B: 40, 50 years. Yeah. You don't heard everything that they can come up with. Every idea, every dream, every patent or whatever invention. Yeah, everything. You done hurt it all.
[00:50:56] Speaker A: The.
[00:50:56] Speaker B: At this point.
[00:50:57] Speaker A: The. Where you going?
When I hear that. Yeah, because I kind of cringe a little because I'm like, you're not wrong, but you have to say that out loud. Yeah, he did. And.
[00:51:06] Speaker B: Yeah, he did. And you know why he did. He did it because he knew there was other couples sitting there.
[00:51:10] Speaker A: So there, you know, where are you going?
[00:51:12] Speaker B: Where you going all bad? Where you gonna go? You go to the car. You go away from me. You go away from me in the car.
[00:51:17] Speaker A: When I hear that, I'm like, that's. I don't. It just. I know I'll probably get there, but it just. To me, I'm like, don't do that. It's like. But it's also no game. Wrong. Like, where are you?
[00:51:25] Speaker B: At no point. At no point do neither one of these people don't love each other. At no point.
[00:51:31] Speaker A: That's true.
[00:51:32] Speaker B: At no point. Like, if he talks to her like that and she responds, whatever. That's just how they speak.
[00:51:36] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:51:37] Speaker B: Now let somebody step in and go, ye.
Get to the car. Then he gonna stand up like, who the.
[00:51:42] Speaker A: Yeah. Who you talking to? Yeah, he.
[00:51:44] Speaker B: Yeah, exactly.
[00:51:45] Speaker A: That's.
[00:51:45] Speaker B: That's his lady. That's his Thing. That's.
[00:51:47] Speaker A: It is funny, though. He's.
[00:51:49] Speaker B: Where you going? Don't nobody want you. That's what he said. He said, don't nobody want you. And then she said, don't nobody want you. And he goes, yeah, that's why we suck. That's why we stuck. Don't nobody want me. Don't nobody want you. We might as well not go anywhere. Where you going?
[00:52:02] Speaker A: That.
I bet that's old, man.
[00:52:05] Speaker B: Old man.
[00:52:05] Speaker A: That's. I feel like that's like, when you hit a certain age and you classify it as old, you just. You get a dictionary. You get a dictionary of all the phrases.
[00:52:11] Speaker B: You going, there's a point in your relationship that somebody gonna say something. You just gonna be like, you know what?
Shut up.
And you think that's gonna be the end of the world, and it's not. It's just gonna be. Because they'll look at you and be like, you know what? You shut up.
And then just be like. And. And you. It'll feel good. It. I can't explain it. It'll feel good. It'll feel so good. Because you'll be like, man, now we just got it off our chest now. We just talked.
[00:52:35] Speaker A: I just wanted.
[00:52:35] Speaker B: And we not. Yeah, and we're not leaving. Like. You're not leaving me. I'm not leaving you.
[00:52:39] Speaker A: That's fair.
Get in the comments.
[00:52:42] Speaker B: That one win, man.
[00:52:44] Speaker A: I don't know what you call it, man. Not manhood. But what classifies you as a grown man.
